anyone into overlclocking ATI vid cards?

heard ATI Tools was good to use and seems to work well to find the max speed, but is it safe?

i have a 9700 with a thermaltake on it

pretty much look at the temp of it… under some pressure… heat is a big killer

yea i have the omega drivers and all the tools that come with that

the thermaltake goes all the way around the card, and has an extra fan on the side that can be turned off

stock the card is 324 clock and 310 memory

ATI tools took it all the way to 350 clock speed without errors or heat problems, so i’m thinking i can run it at 340 clock and 330 memory speed and be safe

I have the X800GTO… slightly clocked with stock cooling. I’m also using an ASUS probe to monitor some stuff. My system runs solid, no problems.

I’m thinkin bout going to 4ghz route with the Intel chip… thats like $108

Intel Penitum D 805? 2.66 this is what I’m ordering soon

Will run @ 3.8ghz with just air cooling, 4.1 requires watercooling

Will be my first attempt @ water cooling, RAID, and SLI
