my borther fixed one once…he would never do it again…its a PITA

Laptops aren’t that bad, mac’s just use a lot more to conceal their guts than other companies. I’d fix it.

Yeah quite a few, just as Moffitt posted, the right tools and patience and it’s not terrible. It’s nowhere near as easy as popping off a back panel of a Dell laptop or a Sony or something, but it’s def not a 5 hour process either.

Also Dave, I have that exact same tool kit, except mine was from Home Depot. Worked on so many different applications for me.

At which point does this become not so bad?

i ave to agree with Sherm…my bro replaced one a G4 once…horrible…but yet only took me 2 min to do my dells…btw my Dell’s lasted 2 years longer that the forementioned g4

you guys are sissy’s :stuck_out_tongue:

I can take apart my macbook and put it back together blindfolded.

i am gonna hold u to that

Meh

When you compare this to the amount of time it takes to change a hard drive on a Dell or HP…

2min vs 45min

true - other laptops are cake, but its still do-able for anyone that can read directions and has the ability to turn a screwdriver

whats a screwdriver???..

It’s not that they’re difficult, I’d just like to meet the genius who did the design.

“Hmmm, hard drive? Never need to change that! Let’s make it so you have to disassemble the entire laptop piece by piece to replace it! Won’t that be fun!”

Speaking of the devil…HI TOM…we need to update ur sig
