I’ve wanted to get one of these for the longest time, but I don’t see what I gain going from VW to DSM.
i havent had any problems with my car other than shit that was my own fault/driver error
such as:
blowing up rear diff
tranny breaking previous owners fault
theyre SO much fun in the winter lol
if i didnt already have a dd id rock the shit out of my car during the winter. Snow tires + fast car + awd = win
the only mishap ive had was my radiator fan destroying itself on the highway lol. but its wired to be constantly on, and its 18 years old. shit happens
i kind of wish i didnt buy nice things for my car lol, now i dont want to drive it in the winterbecause i dont want to ruin it 
If these cars were properly maintained and not have 50 owners they would be reliable. But their cheap to buy, cheap to mod and cheap to make decently quick that their abused and tend to fail more then often that and the fact the newest one is 11 years old.
When maintained they are reliable, you just can’t play without consequences. That’s why they have such a bad reputation.
