which brand model are you guys using?
Got an eye exam today got a pair of contacts, my glasses are giving me issues when riding aggressively not to mention having to constantly adjust my glasses.
I don’t wear contacts but can agree that my glasses are a bit of nuisance when riding.
Funny you should ask, I just switched for an applicable reason. My old contacts (Acuvue 2 I think…) would feel dry and irritate my eyes in any dusty or windy scenario. I have a bad habit of driving with my helmet shield cracked open at the bottom, so that happened instantly on track. I switched to Acuvue Oasys because they let more oxygen into your eye and the problem is dramatically improved. They are also much more comfortable to wear for long periods during the day and dont hurt after 12-14 hrs like other brands did. Price isnt bad either.
For me normal street riding was not too bad, It’s just that I find myself having to adjust my riding position so I am not seeing over the top of my glasses; Which is a huge problem when I hit the track.
Funny also you mentioned Acuvue Oasys, that is something I read a lot about people using for riding. I will have to give that a try once I got my prescription.
i use the oasis also, pretty well all around, keep my eyes hydrated pretty well
Ive been using Bausch&Lomb Purevision, they are super comfortable and designed to stay on for a week straight. I dont even notice them.
I’ve been riding for years with contacts with no real issues, but not on road, lol. When I was out on the road last year I had goggles that covered my eyes up good. Looks like I should try those oasis lenses if I rock a legit helmet. Good to know the oasis lenses work good over long periods of regular wear!
OK, quick update.
I was initially fitted with a pair of Biofinity, wore it for 2 weeks and got my prescription, then I ask to fit a pair of Oasys so I can compare. My doctor told me they are about the same only big difference is Biofinity is a monthly instead of once every two weeks.
I’ve used Oasys for about two days and I can say there is a noticeable difference. I have less burly vision, better focus, less irritation. Today I did a few runs with them and I can say it is much more comfortable riding with them on vs the Biofinity; much much less irritation with wind (I ride with visor shut and with all vents closed), I don’t have to blink as much and the best part is at one point I actually forgot I have contacts on.
So I think I will be ordering Oasys. :thumbup
