anyone running z32 rear brakes with hp+ pads?

My rear hp+ pads have been squealing like crazy.

The brakes still grab real hard and car is perfectly smooth while driving.

However once the brakes heat up, under slightly above light pressure at low speeds i get an extremely loud squeal.

Nothing like the normal hp+ squeal. Super fucked. I thought the brakes were glazed, so i bed them in hard once, it kind of stopped but then came back.

I then sanded the shit outta the pads to get the layer of shit off, but that didn’t work either.

Any ideas?

there’s nothing that can be done, i had some track pads on and they would set off alarms. i put some OE raybestes and then cooked those @ the track and those now squel. All those aggressive pads gotta be breken in properly

Your saying i ruined my pads when i was breaking them in, and they are now garbage?

Bought a set all around for my R33 and they are garbage for the street. I was told they were gunna be quiet from a seller on the forums. Rain or cold they were supposed to be quiet, and I get nothing but people staring at me at stop signs and lights. I was very disappointed in the way they perform for the street, even after doing proper wear in process they squeel like crazy after a bit.

I say boo erns if your using on the streets! And giver if your using for the track.

i got the same problem and i brokem in the way hawk says to, guess it cant be avoided

hp+ pads will always squeel no matter what, ran them on my skyline and they never stopped squeeling got them on the 240 now and the exact same thing. theres not much you can do but learn to live with it or change them, but the only way i did find to make the squeeling stop periodically is to soak them with water

fuck HP+. to much noise and to much dust.

HPS’ work great.

Put a layer of brake lube on the back of the pad, it helps absorb vibration.

it warns you about those pads and noise…

do you really need “race level braking” on your car? if not i would suggest to step down to a ceramic pad, i used a set for over 20,000km no probs

i kinda like the squeal, plus u know when ur pads are up to temp

it;s the pad material itself

thats how HP+ are, and its still not as bad as true dedicated track pads LOL… honestly stop whining, they stop AWESOME for the street. I had them on my previous z32 setup… loved it for what it was.

You always gotta compromise comfort, cooling, friction, noise, dust here n there with pad choices…

If you can’t handle/like the noise go for some HPS pads… they are a street pad. HP+ is an aggressive street/autox pad.

WTF.

I have run hp+ for over 2 years, run through them twice. They are epic on the street. I know they squeal normally on the street.

The squeal im getting from my new seat of rear pads is like 20 times louder than normal, hence i started this thread.

Normally the pads squeal around 5 km/hr just when ur at the lights, mine start fucking screaming at 30km/hr, so loud that you can hear them from a block down. That shit ain’t normal. Real high pitch screeching. Not the normal hp+ screech.

So my question was in regards to the abnormal screech im getting out of my new set of rear pads.

Plz don’t reply to this thread, if your just gonna talk about how loud hp+ pads are in general, as that isn’t the issue.

i was going to say seized caliper sliders but z32 rears are monoblock…so perhaps one or both pistons in one (or both) calipers are siezed.

Maybe you put the pads on backwards lol
It’s happened.

brakes still grab hard and everything works at high speed braking and high force braking, the noise is only present at low speed braking. No scars or gashes or anything on my rotors to indicate any other problems. Starting to think that the pads are just contaminated.

a lot of the time its the shims making noise as well !
