So… Anyone want to buy an EVO?

The only thing is the 993s are often more expensive than the 996s b/c of their high demand due to air cooled last “true” porsche…but 993s are so fucking hot, although the interior of the 996 is scores better…fuck…The 4S is a bitch to find for a decent price too…Plain Jane C4s are pretty easy to pick up inexpensively, but narrow body 993s just aren’t as hot…

PS - I obviously wouldn’t get gray interior

how much and how may miles do you have on it?

under 13K, I don’t even know what I’d ask for it…

I like the 993 more, talk to Xander his dad has a 993 carrera 4S, he may be able to provide some ownership info on the 993 4S.

after owning a Porsche, the best advice i could give u is learn how to rip that car apart and put ti back to gether yourself…the Porsche dealer totally ass-rapes u on everything. at one point i was gonna take mine there for an oil change because i wasnt sure how to do it without making a mess (im not that stupid, just the way the oil filter is mounted on a 944 is a bit strange) and they wanted like $90 or something absolutely rediculous for an oil change.

other than that i like the 993 a lot. i’ve sat in both the 993 and the 996 b4, and me being a bigger guy, i persoanlly like the 996 better because it is a little bit bigger and has a little more leg room. grated, ive never met you, so if u can fit in the 993 and be comfortable, then by all means go for that one cuz those r sweet.

so do I…but I just can’t get over the flatness of the interior…

I mean either way, the price is mid-40s-ish depending…it does scare me the price drop of 996s compared to 993s…

I’m very much NOT a big fellow.

After all I am thinking of buying a Porsche

Be prepared to pay out the ass for maitenence if its your daily, I think they hold like 13 or so quarts of oil for example, cool 150 bucks to change the oil for starters.

that’s another thing I have to look into…but don’t porsches go long distance in between suggested oil changes…I mean this is really just the thought of getting rid of the evo for one of these…I’ve just been bored at work and lurking rennlist and the lust factor is skyrocketing…

Not having a really functional backseat is a bit of a shitty thing tho…arrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh I hate cars.

yeah they r crazy. i went in there once to askl them a simple question about my car and they wouldnt tell me unless i bought it in and let thier mechanic look at it and charge me an ungodly ammount of money for it.

edit:

i was always told 3000 just like any other car with mine. dont get me wrong, they are great cars, and if u take care of them and dont constantly beat the living daylights out of it, the car will last u a very ling time and be very reliable. however, like anything, they do break occasionally, and when they do, its gonna cost u. come to think about it, a Porsche will prob cost u just as much to maintain as any other car, but u will be spending more money less frequently (if that makes sense?). for the year i had mine, i loved it and wouldnt hesitate to get another 944 someday if i have the money.

Your in an evo now…must be the reason you bitching about interior flatness now

Jeller

Well I just googled it because I wanted to know, in fact its 11 quarts, 2 seperate oil filters, and you drain it in 3 different places while removing a couple of panels to access everything. Changes are recommended every 5000 miles.

even EVO >

This is just something i’m THINKING about…I’m not gonna pull a newman and impluse buy a car…

I always wanted a 993 turbo, one of my favorite rides…

too bad they cost as much as a 996 turbo, people seem to hang onto 993s, where as a lot of people are replacing their 996s w/ 997s now

The interiors are definately function over form

Thats where the new 997 shines

Yank out the flat ass seats in it and put in a set of recaros and its fine IMHO. If you want pimp interior and all the other BS go buy something else.

Jeller

What can I say I have good taste:D I would never buy a 996, would either go with a 993 c4 if I couldnt afford the turbo, or save for a 997.

tell me about it…I wouldn’t think twice about a 2nd mortgage to purchase a 997 TT if by some sort of magic a dealer/loan officer knocked on my door w/ one in the driveway…

That’s a thought too, drive evo for 4/5 more years and pick up a used 997

y’all r making me miss my 944 now hahaha

Keep the evo for a daily, you drive a 997 in one winter its going to look like shit inside and out. I can see it as a daily in the summer but if you can afford a 997, you can buy something more practical to drive in the shitty buffalo winters.
