I need to buy a driver side seat in the integra. I simply will not fit with a hemlet on, much less with the cage welded in. It needs to be a side mount, so I can pretty much slam it to the ground. I’m not looking to spend 2k on a seat, so no baller bride seats. Anyone have a good recommendation?

a lot of honda guys like the f1 spec seats… not sure what kind of certs they have

BTW, for people wondering, this is for drag pretty much only, not road racing.
Check out Kirkey seats, they are all fixed, very lightweight, and certified for about anything
problem is that I’d want to keep the seat in for when I drive it around daily

Recaro, pretty much the best there is. even the 21 year old factory seats in my jetta are mad comfortable. Id say they know what they are doing

I think the RT1000 goes for around $600-$650…not 100% sure.
I’d say the Corbeau FX1 is a good seat for what you’re looking to spend and use it for:
Corbeau is the most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever sat in.
I have a Racetech 1000 for a passenger seat and it’s the best value for right around $550.

What are the specific needs of a seat for drag racing? I assume side bolstering is not important, does anyone use side head restraints? Is any sort of neck restraint system (i.e. Hans Device) required?

sparco has some pretty cheap seats.
no hans device, they dont use side restraints usually. some of the higher end racers do, but this is no alcohol dragster. No neck restraint system.
Pretty much its just used for the 5-6 point harness’s, and I believe it only needs to be secured to the rollcage, I’m going to PM Morgan and see what his input on seat selection is. We checked out a few of the oem recaros some of the other customers had there, but they all mounted just like oem seats so we wouldn’t gain any head room.
I think as it is already I’m going to have to cut out the stamped steel seat reinforcements and have them weld the new side mounts in correctly.
My wallet is crying.
