Anyplace locally do Ceramic coating?

I will have some parts that will need to be ceramic coated in a little while. Rather than shipping things out, does anyone local do high temp ceramic coatings? thanks.

I am a jet hot dealer so i can help you out with prices but i need to send them out obviously… let me know if i can help

If you’re looking for quick and convienent… I just went to Hot Shots powdercoating in Hamburg. They started doing cermaic coatings just last year. Aparently equivelant to JetHot.

Swain Tech

jim, jet hot! get what you pay for, and trust me, you are going to need a quality hi-temp coating.

Is jet hot local?

+1 don’t be a cheap chooch, go to jet hot

swain tech, I’m thinking of having them do the CC’s of my extra 280z head after I port it.

they had 3 locations. last i heard they shut down the PA facility, and merged at a NC facility (now the closest).

they pipes i had them do came out exceptional, inside and out, and turnaround time was quick. they did start to wear this past year, but it was my own damn fault because i took a chance with a less extreme coating, and using the 2step really heated the eff outta my stuff. the coating looked phenomenal though. next winter i will have them recoated with the 2000* coating

That’s cool that they worked for you. I am pretty sure swain tech is just as high quality as jet hot though, I have heard nothing but rave reviews from them, and it fulfills his local requirement. 45 minute drive from b-low

Either one should do just fine.

by all accounts swaintech>jet hot. We’re lucky that we have a place known nationally for the quality of their coatings right here in Rochester.

i didn’t realize they were right there. i may check them out next go around. do they do other colors than nassty white for an “extreme” coating? and do they stand behind their work?

+1000

I’ve spent a lot of time reading about different coatings.

Swain and Jet Hot seem to be the real deal.

It seems like just about all the small shops are just using off-the-shelf “ceramic coating paint”- you can buy similar stuff yourself from Jegs or Summit.

I have first-hand experience with Jet Hot (major reduction in underhood temps after coating up pipe with JH 2000 and downpipe in JH Sterling). Pricing was surprisingly reasonable as well.

I will ship it out to Jet Hot if need be, i just want it to be quality and most of all WORK! If someplace local can get the job done, all the better, do people have first hand experience with Swain? and yes what options do they offer?

Swain develops their own coatings and the way they are applied. I had my pistons coated and have never had any issues with the coating. My friend is good friends with the owner. He actually got see them coat his pistons and he was very impressed with process that they use. The nice thing is that they are still small enough that the owner still works there and is able to make sure quality control is up to his standards.

innovative is a dealer for jethot i believe

FYI, You can get 99% of the underhood temp reduction using the DEI exhaust wrap that you could with the ceramic coatings… i read a back to back review somewhere that somebody did with a 5.0 mustang after the same # of dyno runs, the differance was pretty insignificant between ceramic coating and the DEI wrap… but obviouslyy the coating looks WAY better… and wont burst into flames if it gets soaked in oil…
