i work at a computer every single day working in the world of bim (building information modeling) and sometimes still in autocad so none of us use any kind of apple/mac. though i dont think they even make autodesk products for mac.
the only time i ever see people using mac’s is in graphics, and even then most of graphics here is still opts to use pc.
it was in response to the post about doing actual work on a pc. 95% of my projects are in revit mep right now, autocad is only for old projects that have been around that we get random small renovations in that dont justify importing to revit.
how are people using cadd programs not computer people? even calculations and design work we just do on a computer now. the majority of our engineering group seems to be very up on computers and tech, and many bypass even bothering IT when resolving an issue.
unless you think being a computer person means you have to be a programmer. < which i hate. i am a complete fuck tard when it comes to programming. barely passed that class when i had to take it at buff state lol.
I bought my wife a macbook pro in 2006, after her first laptop lasted like barely 3 years, purely for the aluminum case and magsafe cord. She doesn’t take care of her things. It’s still in good shape and works like new (which means the keyboard freezes once in a while, but she doesn’t care much and I think there was a recall we didn’t bother with). I think we paid like $1800. Worth every penny. I hate apple culture, but even I can’t help but admit they make the highest quality mobile shit.
Im not even going to read this thread to prevent myself from spewing mass amounts of incoherent, anger filled hate for this ruling. Samsung/Android will be okay in the phone arena, but its a sad day for phones, its a sad day for android, and its a sad day for competition. Great precedent Cali, keep it up the good work.
It’s not a sad day for android. android core functionality was not affected at all by THIS lawsuit. Some other things that Google has done were affected by other lawsuits.
Google is fighting back, though. They are playing hardball on this one too. And Now Google Sues Apple
