I went to the Triumph dealer yesterday for the demo day and the Aprilia Shiver 750 caught my eye. What is bike crew’s take on it? Any experiences, positive or negative would be appreciated.
Expensive. Imagine owning a Ducati with parts that cost 5x more.
Gorgeous bikes but honestly I’d pass unless you can afford it down the road.
I do have a Ducati already.
The Shiver seems pretty reasonably priced.
Oh, durr I forgot lol.
I’d check out http://www.apriliaforum.com/ and ask around on there. In my mind I couldn’t justify owning one because of the maintenance costs.
Thanks. I will read up a bit there.
I hate the looks of them but I haven’t read a bad thing about them. One of the guys that works for Bucks said he got to take it out quite a bit and he was really impressed with it. I just can’t get down with the exposed tube frame lol. I’d rather have the ducati streetfighter.

I know you’re a big italian bike guy, but what about the 2010 z1000. They’ve made quite a few changes so it’s not as much of an outdated dinosaur. Added 100cc, ram air, etc etc. It’s still kinda heavy and only has 135 horse, but it’s badass lookin IMO.
Since we’re on the subject of Aprilias, my buddy is selling his '07 Tuono R1000 for I think $8900. Mint and like 4k miles or so.
I used to work there, rode one a few times. I’m not a sport bike guy but I was comfortable on it and I like that its different. parts aren’t ducati horrible but not like yamaha available. I’m pretty sure that 750 was used someplace else and its a proven motor. unless im confused with the 1000’s.
For the money, and out of personal preference, I’d get a Monster 796 instead, then atleast you get a single sided swingarm. Still, I like the look of the shiver, but no riding experience so can’t comment.
they fucking ugly
I think that specific shiver is gone anyways, Jim from bucks told me he had two guys lookin to get it and that was a month ago.
