Aquarium fish

I just talked to her and she said the tank is only a 29 gallon. She doesn’t really want to get rid of it, but would sell the stand, tank, and hood for $100. You would also have to take the fish (she wanted $50 for the Oscar last time I checked). I’m not sure how much she wants for the JD.

She said that truthfully, you would be better off starting with all small fish (oscars, JDs or other cichlids) in your tank. She doesn’t think you would be able to add any more fish to her Oscar and JD because they will probably kill them. It gets expensive after a while trying to introduce new fish and watching them struggle and die. You are better off buying a bunch of what you want at the beginning and let them all grow up together (more $$ up front, but better results in the end). She said that smaller Oscars can be bought for under $20 at most pet stores.

No equipment, no stand. Plain glass 150 gallon fishtank. The thing is fucking huge. You’ll need 4 guys kolar’s size to get it easily… it took my dad, me, my sister and my brother-in-law to get it on the porch, and it hasn’t moved since… too damn heavy.

It may need re-sealed… $150 it’s yours… negotiable. That’s a deal for a 150 gallon fishtank. Elmer’s: http://www.elmersaquarium.com/nav/tanks_and_kits/index.html wants $415 for just the tank, no equipment.

my oscar grew 4x faster than my jack dempsey i woudlnt keep them in the same tank till the jack is a lil bigger…

albino oscars > * mine has a hell of a lot more coloring than the one posted i’m not at home so i cna’t take apic of him…i’ve had him since february and he’s about 10" so far

What size tank do you have?

i have 2 oscars in a 30 gallon i can’t put anythign in there or he gets mad and tears them up (like plants and stuff) so it’s a bare tank

yeah i had 1 in a 29 gallon and it got freakin huge… once my jack dempsy dies, im getting 2 new oscars

Oscars > gars

in our tank, we had two oscars, a gar, and a plecostemus(sp?)

I had a Gar like that in a 29 gal tank and he out grew it in like 3 months, now he’s in my uncle’s 50 gal tank and he’s over a foot long.

in the wild they get well over 10 feet. :eek4dance

what kind of oscar?it might be a good addition to my 135 gallon

an oscar

there is only a few fish that are scary to put with oscars.one would be a red devil.and the other is a buterfukari

well there are 5 different oscars

1 common oscar
2 red oscar
3 tiger oscar
4 albino tiger
5 albino red oscar

i have the first 4
i need # 5

ill post some pics of my tank and fish

i would buy it but im goin 220 to 300 gallon next

 lol

Wow thats nuts, def would like to see the pics of your tank.

The thing is I have a 40gal Hex tank and I dont know how well suited it would be for oscars since the largest distance is vertical, but I really like what ive heard about them.

easy to take care of that’s for sure…picky ass eaters tho at least the albino is

I believe my GF’s oscar is called a “snow oscar”.

My GF also has a big hex tank like yours that she has in a corner in one of her spare bedrooms. Since the tank is mostly vertical, she has a bunch of goldfish in there. They don’t school up like other fish and tend to space themselves out better vertically (if you know what I mean). If you get fish that typically hang out on the top or the bottom, you will miss out on a bunch of action.
