ok so i just had a roof put in… they dont look right. its like some of them sit higher and do not look flat in some spots and just look like shit. the guy told me it architectural shingles takes up to 3 months for them to settle down becuase they are architectural shingles. im i getting a line of bs or what ? i tired googling but nothing came up.
he is right ( well i was also told it ) but im going on a year and mine still did not lay flat yet…
post pics
where did you get them done anyways? if you dont mind
Ive never heard of that. If it doesnt look right it doesnt look right end of story. And with the winter months coming up if there not where they need to be there not going to seal properly.

do they sit something like this
pic coming plz wait
I put my own roof on last month, and did not notice any sitting poorly except for the ridge and where I had roof jacks in place for a few weeks.
??
That must have been a real PITA to get those shingle spictured on the shed to sit right…
same color but no they look like shit compared to that
It does take some heat(strong sun).
That is the risk of roofing this time of year.
Just hope we don’t get a major wind storm any time soon.![]()
Who did your roof?
Some shingles can take time to “settle” as it’s been damn cold and there hasn’t been a lot of sun so they can’t really “melt” down to the roof. If the bundles of shingles were left in a position, the shingles will be in that shape and will need to heat up to change shape to a natural form on your roof.
Once the pictures are up we can tell if it’s this, or a shitty job.
also, was it a complete tear-off or just adding a layer?
home improvement center on sherdian
complete tear off im looking for the f’n battery to my camera.
take pictures

look like this?
nice place
got pics uploading
The tar likely hasn’t gotten hot enough to allow them to set properly. The sun also heats up the whole shingle and makes the backing more pliable and helps it settle too. That’s the bad part of doing a roof in the winter. Summer is the most ideal time to do it, though I realize not always possible.
basically
