I know a few of you are interested in Architecture (Dozr). We have a wonderful lineup of guest lecturers lined up for this semester, topped off by a lecture by Peter Eisenman:
03.28.07 Peter Eisenman, Birdair Lecture
Peter Eisenman leads a firm that integrates the experimentation typical of the academic studio with the demands of professional practice. He is the architect of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, the cultural complex in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and recently completed the Cardinals’ Stadium in Arizona.
This promises to be a very interesting lecture, as Eisenman is a very eloquent speaker. I recall a quote, following the construction of the Holocaust Memorial, when vandals painted swastikas on it, Eisenman said “Perhaps it adds meaning to it”
