Call? Best chance is to swing to the local office and request the newest box. Techs only have 3 or so on their truck and no control over which they receive.

I call BS, but don’t really care. lmao. $100 says verizon sells their fiber within 5 year, you on?

It is not so much the company, it has a lot to do with the area you live in.

Any contractor for service is a joke. Most in-house techs are ok, some are bad and some are gold.

Rebooting the box is just a temp fix, I’ve had my two dvrs boxes for over a year with no reboots.

Samsungs are nice, I went with the newer ciscos. Any newer box is better, usually.

“booster” is a band aid, have a tech fix the real issue, no one under 6 digital pieces of equipment needs an amp, well maybe some folks in synder.

“they” rebooted it? Just reboot it yourself, no difference unless you see a “not authorized” error.

No, no “over capacity” issue will affect a TV. If any “over capacity” issue, it would be bandwidth"
You can swap cable boxes in the rooms to see if the problem is the line or the box. If its the box, just take it to the local office.
It’s ok there are only like 3-4 guys in Buffalo who actually know how SDV/VOD actually work from end to end.
SDV was childs play… Did you work with servassure?
Nah only did two years at twc.
Might come back when the east region finishes the reorg
You should try to get into the head end side a bunch of people should retiring
I love my position, only do BC, on my own all day everyday. I dunno about a office job.
I may be a little late to this party, and it most likely has to do with the area in which I live, but…I have one of the newer Samsung boxes and have been having issues with it. It’ll be slow to respond, or laggy, not tune to a channel, randomly change channel, and randomly not turn on. Just recently an update came through, and all was well…for about four days. This box sucks.
It actually has nothing to do with where you live if the box is slow.
Didn’t think so…
Crappy box, swap it.
Samsungs are the fastest overall, but they are newish compared to SA/Cisco to the STB scene and I decided to go with cisco myself.
I think samsung, as a set top box manufacturer, suck ass.
I am fairly certain the actual code that the DNCS pushes down to the boxes is written in C, all of the TWC owned backend code is java.
Now I am going to have nightmares from my time in ATG.
Got a new box today from Time Warner, Cisco is the brand. Much much faster than the old box, there was like 5 people in line exchanging their old boxes also.
