Are you standing IN line, or standing ON line?

How do you say it? I’ve noticed a lot of people, in real life, on TV and on the Radio saying ON line lately.

Is that the proper way to say it?

no. Unless you are standing on top of the line.

I stand in the queue

I stand in the snow

see that was my reasoning too the first time I heard it. But now it seems like everyone is saying online, which makes my brain hurt lol

I stand in the queue
lol

i stand on the grass but stand in a line

IN the line, this drives me fucking nuts to here people (NYCers) say on line.

You stand within the line, or stand in a line

therefore you stand in line.

You don’t stand ON LINE unless you are standing on a line, which you still wouldnt say im standing on line. No you say I’m standing on a line…

+1 I’ve never even heard this in TV/Movies/etc.

Go off line then, I’m sure many would be thankful

i usually say “im just sittin ghere on the internet. not literally of course.”

ON LINE < OVER THE LINEhttp://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/andrewstaab/WalterSobchak.jpg

So it’s an NYC thing? that makes a lot more sense

and i know why it does… OnA
