True. My point is this case is just as much about race as when a white cop shoots a black man that was trying to kill him. Neither are racism but the media certainly tries to make one about racism.

Recent media identification of white on black police incidents bring me right back to the Iraq troop surge era. Sure there are and have been issues. Doesn’t mean every incident needs to be portrayed as such.
Anyhow this is a very sad event I almost watched the vid but decided against it. Its sad that people harvest this kind of hate/anger/conflict resolution inside of them.

Video is just sad. All three victims simply had tunnelvision and did not notice a former coworker standing three feet away, with the firearm drawn. At one point he points it, then adjusts his camera, before repointing and firing.
A lesson in situational awareness. I gotta admit, this one hits pretty hard. It’s as senseless as it gets :tdown:

I couldn’t believe when he aimed the gun at her, arm fully extended from about 4 feet away and neither the reporter or the interviewee even noticed. Not that noticing would have made much difference though.

Add 10 parts crazy and mix it in with some media race war pot stirring and a little BlackLivesMatter calls for violence and no one should be surprised at the result.
People are constantly trying to distract reporters while they’re on air, I imagine many of them just ignore things in the periphery.
It’s also very easy to get tunnel vision if you’re the one being interviewed.
All this gas in the air and people just gotta walk around casually flicking lighters.

gun crime in America is not news or surprising. what makes this unique is that it was on live TV and the fact that the fiance of the woman killed, on top of dealing with her death, has to also deal with the video of her being shot displayed all over the world.

well, the facts are there that he in fact shot both of those people in “honor” of the victims of the Charleston shooting. He didn’t come out and say “I shot those crackers because they were white” but there was enough implied reasoning.
Was this guy mental ill? Yes,without a doubt. Was he 100% racially motivated? Doubtful. did his racist views have a roll in the shooting? Without a doubt.

The murder case you quoted,is it safe to say that those individuals weren’t mentally ill as well? I would say so. Anyone who can do that to another human being is mentally ill.
I’m glad race isn’t playing a huge part in this case. I’m generally sick of the finger pointing and race baiting. But to say the murder wasn’t racist is absolutely wrong, i mean, I think we can all agree anyone who is strongly racist is a bit delusional anyways.

I don’t understand the thread title. The first part I get. The black guy has arms and shot some people. The second part I don’t get. Both of the white people have arms. What I don’t understand is why a armed man would shoot people with no arms.
