I don’t follow hockey anymore but Crosby seems to be kicking ass wholly and completely for the past couple years… cup, gold medal, biggest endorsements.
lol… I was downright disappointed with Toronto as a hockey town.
We came up for a game back in Feb 09, 2 of my friends had tickets and me and my buddy Pete were looking to buy 2 but couldn’t find any for sale. We figured we were in Canada we should be able to find some kind of crazy hockey bar to watch the game at and get into a fight or two… We went to 6 places on the recommendations of people on the streets and found 1 person wearing a hockey jersey, a hot czech chick wearing a Crosby jersey who didn’t speak a lick of english.
Finally we stumbled upon Wayne Gretzkys bar and figured we finally found it. Walked in and they were watching the NBA All Star Game.
We got destroyed by the leafs that game and that prompted the move the next day that would get us the cup that year, fired Michel Therrien and hired Dan Bylsma as head coach.

Toronto is one city I feel sorry for. Their own fans can’t watch a game in their own town unless they want to pay out the ass for tickets. It’s so commercialized and white collar it’s crazy. Half the people in their arena are missing 5 minutes into the period because they are still at the bar. It’s more of a social event than a sports event.
And Buffalo and Pittsburgh play some more this year! One game doesn’t decide anything! Bring it on bitches! Next time you won’t be able to rely upon your no name garbage picker 4th liners to win the game for you!

It was a fun time. Went to Anchor Bar, Bada Bing and Pearl Street Brewery where I had the Cherry Wheat and the Blueberry Blonde(?).
It was such a quiet city though. The day before Thanksgiving and there was hardly anyone around, no one near the arena, it seems so desolate?
The arena area is desolate, other than pearl st. If you made your way down to chippewa afterward it was probably rocking. Anchor Bar is in the hood so pretty much only tourists go there.
:word: Chippewa was anything but desolate that night.
That’s good. Unfortunately I had to head back to Pittsburgh right after the game for work the next day. I woulda loved to have stayed another night and partied.
