i was playin around on google earth and stumbled upon “deadman island (historical)” thats in the middle of the river between leetsdale and sewickley
and was wondering what the hell it was about… i googled it but didnt come up with anything. whats this island about?

to get it to work, you have to hold your head underwater until you can’t hold your breath anymore…
people settled there when the river used to freeze over. The water would eventually thaw and they would be stranded there. Since they walked there, they would not have a boat to leave. They would eventually die, calling it dead mans island…
actually I made all that up, I have no clue what the island is about
