Pros and cons… Go!
Pro: I’m there.
Con: No Wegmans.
/thread
there is a cat serial killer
and something about grilled cheese out of a truck
Pros: 2 Tim Hortons opened now.
They do have Mighty taco
Rockys makes a mean pizza with the sweet sauce they use.
surrounded by water for zombie attacks, you just need to blow the bridges before it gets out of hand.
Cons: Crossing the bridges during rush hour can be a bitch.
not having easy pass and forgetting to bring money = a pain in the ass time crossing the bridge.
you need to cross a bridge to go anywhere besides places on the island.
I was seriously considering it.
Pros:
Lower taxes
Houses with larger lots without moving to west bumblefuck
Rural feel without moving to west bumblefuck
Good schools
Low crime
Everything has good access to the 190
Great place to make a stand during the zombie apocalypse if you can blow the bridges.
Cons:
The bridge
Any little shopping trip means driving a ways (No Home Depot, Lowes, Wegman, Target, Kohls etc etc etc.)
The bridge
Chances are you won’t be working on the island so commuting on and off the island every day and dealing with…
The bridge
Grocery shopping at Tops or dealing with…
The bridge
Indians might take it back?
grass island
Tops…
That whole place is weird, I’m sorry. I went to a vw meet at say cheese pizza and all of the grand island regulars that were there creeped me the f out.
Then again, I’ve lived in hamburg or Boston my whole life so…
this Island is not sounding so Grand.
Pro:
A vibe it gives off keeps out the undesirables
Oh hey Jam
I didn’t find that the taxes were that much lower.
Still not worth having to drive over the bridge for anything other than fast food.
The southtowns also has that vibe, apparently
Pros:
Never lived there, but drove around and seems cool
Cons:
Apparently Yamba6 lives there
I’m on the Island daily, literally.
edit: roughly 4-5 times a week.
Pros: It’s in NY.
Cons: It’s still in NY.
ive been working on the island 5+ years now…its ok here i guess. still havent explored the whole island.
i find myself driving off the island for food on my lunches sometimes, however they do have a mighty taco and theodores now
the bridges are meh.
there is a rediculous amount of police activity here. erie county sherrif, state troopers, and border patrol. i was in john’s a couple weeks ago and there was 8 border patrol agents in there eating. youre pretty much guarenteed to see some type of officer every time you drive around here.
property seems on par with other areas…ive thought about the idea of relocating here for a short commute to work, however im pretty positive ill stay a niagara county resident for a while.
edit: theres also alot of old people that cant drive. ive almost been ran over by an old lady or old dude like 3 times now in the tops parking lot.
Wegmans, Target, Home Depot in the falls are not that far and the north bridge is actually not bad crossing over to the niagara county side, however I guess a con would be having to go to Niagara Falls
Taxes are not always lower there, some houses seem much higher than what you’d think they should be. It is really nice and quiet though with the rural feel. My MIL has lived on the island in the apartments off Whitehaven for almost 4 years now. She loves it.
Did you really just answer your one statement with an obvious answer?
