I need to get chrome removed. I need to get a chrome truck ball (trail hitch) stripped down.
Anything I could use, or would I have to take it to somene with acids or something? I have no clue about anything regarding chrome.

sandpaper :dunno:
talk to shaggy… i heard he can suck the chrome off a hitch!
Sandpaper was just scratching it lol. I don’t want to spend all day sanding it, which is why I’m looking for more along the lines of a chemical.
:bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:
why do you need it stripped? are you gonna paint it? just scuff it up and spray
Yea, I’m going to paint it. The paint will stick if the chrome is just scuffed up?
signature material there
if its scuffed enough it should.
Found this on the web. Don’t know if it works:
Removing Chrome
What I have found to be the best way to strip chrome plating is to put your parts in a Mason jar, pour in some chlorine bleach (Clorox). Close the lid, and feel free to shake it up to make sure that you get total coverage on our parts (they tend to float…). The Clorox reacts with the aluminum in the plating, and BOOM! It just takes a few minutes.
Awesome! Thanks a lot! I’ll have to try that.

also a golf ball through a garden hose. for the major malfunction, I can get maryjane rottenkrotch to give a reach around.
there is no aluminum in chrome plate it is nickel ( aka fake lead )
i got a chrome setup…
but to remove it they sell a stripper. or do what i do when i powdercoat a chrome part … at 90psi and black silicon carbide hit it on a angle and whatch the chrome peel right off… then switch to glass bead and then paint with expoxy
road salt and some water…
Yes, put whatever your doing near a hatch of a rustang and have the stripping done for you :boink
