Anyone know anything about the LG VX9800? I’m thinking about buying one. I really wish Verizon had the new Blackberry that T-Mobile has.
i think that’s the one i was gonna get it last night, but the dude said the motorola was much better. plus my old lg was nothing but problems.
was it that?
i’ve never had an LG, but my Motorolas were shit. Then again, my Motorolas were v120s. I’ve always sworn by Nokia, but they’re not making much for Verizon anymore, and the 6015 is garbage. I deactivated my 6015 and reactivated my 3589 because of how shitty the newer phone is.
I want a phone with a camera and a QWERTY keyboard, but I don’t want another PocketPC phone. My Toshiba 2332 was a great PocketPC…and a terrible phone.
that’s exactly why i went with motorola last time i bought a phone, lg batteries seem to wear out to quick too
i had a problem with the Motorolas not recharging… the port on the bottom of the phones would quit connecting snugly with the charger cable. Have they fixed that port design?
my charger clip thingy snapped and it’s not snug anymore, but that’s my own fault for plugging it in after i got home from the bar. everyone else that has one doesn’t have the same problem… i believe it’s the same port design, i have the v710, it’s pretty old now, but when it first came out, it was money
my battery was 2 years old, but i was on my 3rd phone. it would shut off when i opened or closed it.
they do… comin out very soon
does it do everything the LG 9800 does?
BlackBerrry is really only good for email.
PDA it’s weak
Phone it’s weak (bad microphones/speakers) as well as reception
Bluetooth is not data capable, only voice
it’s not UMTS or EDGE (GSM versions), or EV-DO/DV capable (CDMA versions)
But if you’re looking for a phone that can browse the occassional HTML website, or get your email asap… the BB is definitely a good choice. But it’s weak for a PDA phone.
ok then… so would you recommend the 9800? I want a good camera, a QWERTY keyboard, and the MP3/VCast stuff wouldn’t hurt.
not really. Verizon has a poor selection in phones. I’d never really reccomend LG. rebaged Audiovox bullshit
i’m very happy with the coverage, plan, and customer service though. sprint was a fucking nightmare. tmobile has great phones, but shit reception in shaler. my entire family, amanda’s entire family, and most of my friends have verizon. free calls > *.
so, among verizon phones, is there a better phone that does that shit?
Samsung SGH-i700
Palm Treo 650
Verizon Coverage=good.
Plans=shitty
Sprint Sucks ass
T-Mobile is good, depending on what kind of phones you have.
i don’t do headsets.
TMobile is a little better on plans, but the fact that nearly everyone I know has switched to Verizon makes that a moot point.
a little better? Theyre a lot better
that in network is nice, unless you travel
eh.
in the last year i went to san diego, vegas, orlando, hilton head, columbus… no issues. Never lost digital signal once driving to Orlando or Hilton Head. Ironically, my phone only goes analog at the intersection of Kittaning and Sharpshill where Shaler + O’Hara meet.
Thats seems to be the most common motorola complain. I recently bought the motorla e815 which i’ve been having nothing but problems with. I wouldnt recommend a motorola phone to anyone, and i’ll never buy another one.
whats wrong with it, i just bought one.
that phone reminds me of that 1 james bond movie where he drove the car through it.
