Attn Skiers/Boarders: You MUST Ride Utah if u get the chance!!!

I’ve ridden twice since I’ve been out here… Once Thursday Night at Brighton… and all day today at Park City… OMFG!!! It’s heavenly…

There wasn’t even that much fresh powder and it’s still amazing here!

If you can ride on the east coast… riding out here is a piece of cake. Although you better have a fresh wax otherwise you aren’t going anywhere; I did notice the snow is a lot sticker; but fast as hell with a fresh wax.

The altitude and length of the runs killed me though… being above 9000’ and having runs that are miles long sure takes its toll!

But… it’s SOOOOO worth it!!!

How much is a day pass? Just curious.

I almost did a +1 but figured I could find out myself:
http://www.parkcitymountain.com/winter/tickets/lift_tickets/

All Day 9-7:30 $86
Half Day 12:30-4 $68
Lower Mtn 9-4 $58
Twilight 12:30-7:30 $76
Night 4-7:30 $46

I was BEAT by 4pm. But I’m not a super strong boarder and have a bum knee. I hit maybe 20% of the runs today… if you rode CONSTANTLY you could probably hit everything in a day, but you’d be beat the fuck up.

I’m gonna be back here in 2 weeks… not sure if I want to do Park City again, or hit up the Canyons (Resort next door to Park City; they have 400 more acres than Park City… 3700 acres Vs 3300 at PC).

The riding is almost effortless though… you don’t have to work to get down the hill at all, you can carve through anything and just ride w/o even really thinking.

Tons of natural terrian to play with, runs that take 10+ mins to get down if not more…

damn, probably more than $800 for a 3 day trip.

$584 for flight, hotel and car rental through priceline.com: get there the 15th at 1, ride from 4-730 for 46, ride the next day 1230-7 for 76 (gotta sleep in!), leave at 7 on the 17th.

that leaves $94 to cover taxes, fees, food, booze.

not something I can dip into savings to do when Ill be unemployed after the 5th. maybe next year

Yep, it’s pretty awesome. Been out there a couple times. Last time I was out there I rode parkcity and deer valley in June on a siiiq downhill bike. Check out Harry-o’s and oshucks for some apré ski activities(get hammer drunk). Park City is always a good time.

Lol @ their prices being so close to KB’s shitty lift pass prices. I have always said I will be traveling out there to do some boarding when I can. With my new job, they send me all over the US to sell rv’s at different shows. I’m sure I can manage to get a show in this area.

double post…

KB and HV are 30$ for almost 7 hours…
it’s 68$ for 3hours there… i don’t really see a price comparison

An 8 hour for an adult is $40, on the weekend is $52. I don’t see anything that is $30, unless your a Jr.

Attn Blind People - There is better skiing where there are bigger mountains and more snowfall!!!

~This thread is brought to you by Captain Obvious.

Thank you Captain Douchebag.

Ok. Great, thats still double the fucking time. Maybe you suck at math?

no my math lagic is…Kb does not equal even close to half than what the resorts are out there.

KB - ~700 acres, what, 500’ vertical?
HV - ~1400 acres, 750’ vertical

Park City - 3300 acres, >2000’ vertical
Canyons - 3700 acres, >2000’ vertical

There is ZERO comparison between the two…

Not to mention boarding/skiing in WNY is almost always hard-pack and ice… out here… it’s almost always powder.

Night skiing at PC isn’t worth what they charge; they only have 2 lifts open and while it’s good, IMO it’s not worth the $$. Brighton is about 30 mins away and is only $32 for nights; 3 lifts, and some good terrian to play with. I rode there Thursday night.

edit - also, most of the lifts are high-speed quads/6-packs at PC… and most are well over a mile if not 2 long.

Clearly you have never skied out west.

I was commenting on the price comparison. Not the experience comparison

I was up in the mountains a half hour east of park city riding sled three weeks ago. It dropped 6feet of fresh pow in the back country right before we got there. It was amazing…

Park city is smaller than I pictured it. I didn’t have a chance to board though. Lame

I don’t really understand your point then.
I can ski on the little hill in my backyard for free but…

This is my 17th year in a row skiing out west, I don’t even ski here because it is a joke. I don’t even ski when my daughter is getting lessons at KB because I am not going to pay $48 to stand in line for 10 minutes to get 1 crappy run.

I guess the west can’t be explained, it must be experienced.
