ATV guys step in..

Im looking to get my first atv…

theres tons of trails by my house and my friend has 150 acres i can ride on too…

What would you suggest for a first atv?

Pref looking for something thats 4 wheel drive and has some decent power…

Suggestions?

Honda Foreman 400ex. push button shifting. good power to gas consumption ratio. big enough to fit a woman on the back or gear.

buy USED.

alright cool, i have a honda dealer on the end of my street im gonna try to go check them out this week…

and hmm big enough to fit a woman, so i guess it should be big enough for a nitrous bottle too :pimp:

you could just strap a 10# bottle to the utility rack and STILL have room for zee woman

come visit me at berts ill get you something dude.

Rob

I think he moved to virginia.

bombardier quads can take tons of abuse and can move pretty quick like the ds650 for their sport model(thats 2wd) or look at their work models.

Something like the 650 is a beast on gas.

can- am outland 650 you can get the max and have 2 up seating or take it off and have a sporter quad. I was very suprised with can-am. I have ridden polaris quads and they dont wven come close to can am

Sportsman twin turbo FTW

Honda Rancher- My buddy has one and it take anything you throw at it and easy to maintain. I also owned a Yamaha Wolverine 350 4x4 and that was a good quad as it was a little sporty. Both aren’t made for 2 people but will fit.

a foreman and a 400ex are 2 diff quads…

but yeah, a rancher, foreman or vinson 500 are all really good quads for what your looking for, they are all pretty fast, handle well and can take whatever mud you put them threw, a wolverine was kinda meh on power

interesting, im going on memory from like 7 years ago my buddies day had one that i think was a 2000 model year and i swore it was a Foreman 400 ex…

might have been a foreman 400.

either way it fucking hauled ass push button shifting was bitching

it blew away the Kawasaki Bayou 325 that we also had.

I have a Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 and it’s a great all around quad. Bought it new in 2004 and haven’t had a single problem with it to this day.

the foremans are awesome quads, the bayou is pretty good too for being a 2wd, you probably wont even need 4wd, i had a set of dirt devils on my ozark250 which is 2wd and it kept up with all the 4wd quads in mud bogs, just obviously not extremely deep ruts.

arent the kodiaks just the same as the wolverine?

the bayou was not good for going up a steep gravel incline, just spun the tires. It was quick though.

Had lots of quads…always had the best luck with the Hondas as mentioned here and Yamahas. Had a kawasaki prairie for like 10 years now, also a great ATV.

The wolverine is more of a sport quad whereas the Kodiak is more utility-based.

I had a Beartracker… was an awsome fiest quid… cheap, reliable, largest fram 250cc
auto clutch…

i think im gonna go look at the honda foremans, and i like the option on it that you can switch between 2 and 4wd…

and i will be putting this thing thru hell and high water…lol i just wanna have fun and beat on a play toy…
