Audi question

From a dig today(about 7:00) I got my audi up to redline (around 6800-6900) I dont do it alot but I did the exact same thing the day before, but this time when it was going from 1st to 2nd i got a clunk(right about redline) slowed down went to the nearest parking lot and played with it from reverse to drive and it was clunking into gears…shut the damn car off and turned it back on and it was fine, just went out again(7:45) and it went into gears fine, didnt do a hard pull but went down the road and back and it was really smooth like it always was

Question hear is…What caused the clunking? I was thinking a tranny/motor mount…but now its fine so im pretty stumped.

Obv blew your tranny broooooo, it’s cause you drive an audi. Needs moar turb.

get used to it , could of been the sychro,s were spinnin so fast they couldnt catch up in time . im sure its fine . ya prolly could use a trans service though if ya have some miles under the old girl

DONT BLOW IT UP!

gotta hear the clunk. it could be everything from CV slop, motor mount movement, bowling ball in the trunk, who knows.

Not a real nasty one, but it was a pretty deep clunk when going into reverse and drive…didnt do it going into low gears, I just dont get how after I turned the key off and back on it was fine, been driving it all day today and havent had a problem shifting…but i havent gave her a good romp from a dig like i did yesterday.

EDIT: Kind of felt like it was coming from somewhere near the middle back of the car…not so much the front.

SO it clunked when you put it in drive?

Maybe a fucked up transfer case?

Yepp, drive and reverse, until i turned it off and on… but now its fine thats what confuses me.:banghead

Front Lower control arm

Heard thats VERY common in these to go, have to check that out…Hows H20 mahfuckah?

But i dont see how that could of impacted clunking from reverse to drive lol

just blow the tranny right out of it
