b16 pouring out oil from the back?

yep thats wrong if thats the silver that i can see lol, i dont think you even had the “up” facing up lol

awww, hey can you circle exactly where you see the silver tab.? lol i cant seem to see what your talking about…

Scspeed…i might have to take up your offer on helping me do that headgasket agian.
Do i need to get a whole new one? or can i reuse the one in there even thought it been put on the wrong way?

never reuse a headgasket thats been tq’d down

no photoshop currently, but look at the 3 bolt holes (where mount goes) and right to the left of that you will see it, if thats a shiney silver piece then the headgasket is on upside and backwards (happens more than youd think) that silver looking “tab” should be on the other side of the head right below vtec solenoid

if the motor has not been heat cycled and the coating is still in good shape then go ahead and reuse the gasket. ive done it plenty of times when in a pinch.

the car ran for at most 10sec and i turned it off.

hey bill… what woulda gave you that idea!!! :nerd:

Haha yea i called it head gasket on upside down backwards or something it seems.

Just got done fixing the head gasket for him an hour or so ago, its good to go now. The head gasket was on upside down and backwards…easy to do if your not paying attention or if you are in a rush

Shrek what did you torque those arp head studs to? They seemed to be under torqued when i took them off, also was that head gasket brand new?? It didnt look it.

please tell me you put on a new headgasket and didnt reuse the old one?

Kid told me to just reuse it. I reused mine before when that happend and im making 400hp and its still holding just fine. I bought a can of gasket sealer and sprayed in on before i put it back on. I did the same to his. Told him its not going to guarantee anything but hopfully it would get him by a month or two till he got some more money… Just did what he wanted me to do.

the gasket is only 3 layer/shim gasket. unless it was damaged or warn out its fine to reuse.

It’s hard for me to believe I would have gotten a new one mixed up with a used one. If that’s the case I should have a new one at the shop someplace. As far as the torque on the head studs, I am positive I did that, it’s a two step process. My pix show the gasket being on wrong so I cant say anyone was in there after me but it has been out of my possession for some time now. I was hours away from starting the engine and would have discovered the gasket for myself. I was a little iffy with selling something I couldn’t vouch would work, sorry you got stock with my mistake. After I sold it to Oasis I asked more then once how everything went, even told him Id help with the title but he never contacted me. Id double check everything. Let me know if anything else comes up and I will do what I can to help. Did you buy the tranny also?
