So I had to buy some dog food and I see a truck driving slowly down my street thinking it was a paper delivery. I see someone going door to door and it’s Joe Mesi handing out info on his run for State Assembly.

mesi is from the kenmore area. his dad still lives there, real nice guy, he comes into the post office i work at from time to time. joe’s been in a couple times too, he’s a good guy also.
edit: also, hillary had plenty of experience, she’s already been president what more do you want from her?
I’ve seen and talked to Mesi a few times around amherst/tonawanda/williamsville. He’s a generous guy, I don’t know what he stands for… not much probably, a few rights would put him down with such a glass chin. punpunpun
Its a shame, he’s a good guy who wants to do a lot, but I think people will perceive him as a retard boxer who was hit in the head too many times.

I went to high school with him. He’s a cool dude, and a stand up guy, but…what the hell does he know about politics? Just because you are popular doesn’t mean you should run for office. The best politicians are usually sucessful businessmen.

Sure he is a nice guy, but he has no business experience. What is he going to do, put on his gloves and beat the shit out of the old guys in the assembly? From what I recall, his dad was his business manager. He’s about the equivalent of Billy Fuccillo running for the same position. He’s popular in the public eye, but that’s it.
He’s running for State Senate. Mary Lou Rath’s seat, that she is retiring from. His opponents are 3 of the career politicians that have helped fuck local government to the point that it is today. He can’t possibly do any worse than they can; he’s really a smart guy, not just your typical meathead boxer. New blood and new ideas are a good thing. Probably why Golisano gave him and the other outsiders running for seats a million each toward their campaigns, our state legislature needs to be shaken up.
