For a sporty DD I’d pick the M5 for sure but for just cruising around with the occasional WOT boot the e55 would do the trick for me.
id take the benz over the bmw. the m5 is horrific looking compared to the e55.
Pulley, tune, heat exchanger, $120 lowering links and some OEM MB 19s (CLS55 AMG or whatever else) and you’re done. 122mph luxury car that looks, sounds and drives like it’s completely stock with a hand-built, bulletproof V8 and heated/cooled/massage seats for $30,000. Works for me. Just gotta be ready to replace some stuff, mainly the rear tires and parts of the Airmatic system :lol. Still cheaper and more reliable than the ABC that the 03-06 S/SL/CL 55 and 600 cars come with.

I would still own a IS-F over both I think though.
IS-F all the way. Its really not the greatest 4 door saloon car but man the sound and the look just does it for me as well.
I prefer the E39 M5 over the E60 though
