You cant ballance tires on the car.
Maybe he was confusing balancing with alignment. :dunno:
Balancing costs like $10/wheel. If you bought new rims/tires or your
weights somehow fell off, then it’s worth getting it done.
Yes you can. 404 | Hunter Engineering Company® ‘On-Car’ balancing is usually performed on problem vehicles that suffer from constant vibrations. In most case the hub assembly or brake rotor is to blame.
great info, thank you

Thanks Mike, I stand corrected.
i need to balance my tires this year as well. time to toss out 40 bucks.
to avoid having to do this every year, store your tires lined up instead of stacked.
I doubt a lot of shops will carry the on-wheel balancer. It looks pretty
involved not to mention you need a special device for it.
And like many aftermarket sport wheels, the balance weights are put
behind the wheel so that can be a bitch.

I take my car to BURLINGTON TIRE its on harvester just west of Appleby line in Burlington, they have all that equipment there if you need to get it done, I think it cost around $80 to get the wheels balanced on the car.
Wow, excellent contribution to the thread. :ugh2:
Going rate for off-car balancing is $10 per tire, and as will240 mentioned,
the on-car balancing costs $20 per tire.
You can’t balance TIRES on the car. On-car balancing involves almost the whole assembly from the hub/bearing outward.
If you have no problems with the suspension components and allignment, regular off-car balancing is better and also cheaper.
actually… if you want to take a drive down to etobicoke… its 5 dollars a tire here IIRC
10 bux is for mounting AND balancing…
thats more like it 20 bucks is about right.
A bit OT - If you store tires standing up, doesn’t it create flat spots? Or is that only if they are like that for a really long time?
I dont think that if you stand them up it will create flat spots unless it being stored for a really long time, due to the fact that it doesn’t have the weight of the car constantly pressing down on them.
If you’re gonna store your car for a couple of months with the tires on, raise the pressure in them so that they don’t flat spot as much, if at all.
There’s also a way to get rid of some flat spotting on tires if that’s already your case.
jst had my wheels balanced today. dude said they were really off and he couldnt get them perfect on one side cuz the tire quality was bad… is this possible? heh i got kumho 711 btw. and i got them last summer so ive only really driven on them for like 3 months.
