600cc, 126hp, 725lb, street legal! :excited:excited
what. the. fuck.
nice find. every since i built a 3 wheel car to race at lime rock in school i always had the passion to make a “t-rex” style machine. they get great mpg and performance. what else could i ask for?
so bad ass!
Awesome… but looks like more of a death trap than a motorcyle :lol
Pricing? Yikes!!
Gonna be in Miami Friday. Maybe Ill be able to see one!
For $30,000+ I’d rather buy an Ariel Atom “roller kit.”
You’ll start seeing more of these types of kit cars popping up. Even Fran @ RCR had contemplated doing one.
Add another rear wheel and you basically have what I’m building I do like that they actually built it around a 600cc motor vs the motor common liter bike motors most use.
hahahah looks soooo fun
What dose it realistically cost to build one of these ?
matters if you need design time , tools, materials. some people already have these so its cheap. or they have friends with them. but if you have a garage with tools and you buy a cheap down’d bike, small car steering setup/brakes/front suspension from junk yard, bunch of tubing, you could slap one together pretty cheap. all matters what your goals are
What, one of these scorpion type vehicles or a kit car?
Pricing depends on alot of factors including the kit your purchase, drivetrain used, complexity of the kit(partial turn key, full assembly, etc). Also if the kit is based on a donor car how much is required from that particular car, and of course what car it actually is.
I’ve assembled numerous kits for people from RCR, Ultima, F5. They can start as low as ~10K for a resonable kit and you’ could have $30K into it before it’s all said and done. Some kits come with gelcoat GRP bodies which do not require paint, others need that legwork. The F5 GTM uses C5 donor parts(suspension, steering, brakes, etc) so part availability isn’t that bad. Gearboxes are often the single most expensive piece of the car, ranging ~4K for a refurbished audi or porsche box upwards of $30K for a medeola, quaife, or hewland sequential.
Assembly time in a serious kit car can run upwards of 200 labor hours in something like an Ultima or RCR Gt40. Other kits can be shipped in and rolling out within a week or two.
The bike powered kits such as depicted in this thread, are substantially cheaper to build due to the drivetrain used. Most of them come as partial turn key, requiring only minor suspension assembly, drivetrain install, and wiring. Working non stop, you could have one up and running in mere days and for minimal cost with a proper donor bike.
My own small kit car will be slated around $15K in GRP/kevlar(20K in carbon kevlar), partial turnkey +2K, and includes quaife gearbox. Will just need choice of wheels and donor bike to run
Wow lol. I think the bike powered kits like the one above are pretty legit.
sorry but 3 wheelers are for toddlers and rednecks drunk in a sand pit. Same with those dumb fucking Bombardier things all the richy rich qweers have. I think they look retarded, and sketchy at best. I dont know enough about the physics of a single rear wheel, but it just doesnt seem like it hooks well. That black one in the video above looks like a nice one wheel peeler. I understand it could be easier to register since its a 3 wheeler can can still be considered a motorcycle on paper, so maybe that has alot to do with it.
4 wheels or 2 thats it thats all or GTFO.
ohh and its bull shit you can take a motorcycle road test on a 3 wheeler; you dont need to balance it, put your feet down at a stop, no chance of falling over on a figure 8… pussy shit allowing 3 wheel gays to get this M lic.
W TF ! u can ? LOL thats retarded !
yeah. a 3 wheeler is considered a motorcycle. You need a motocycle to take the road test. Shit you can take the road test on a 125 vespa and do a figure 8 inside the circumference of a man hole if you wanted to!
I believe that if you take it on a 3 wheeler you are restricted to only riding a 3 wheeler. I dont know how they put that on your license but i’m about 90% sure of it.
The bike motor with 4 wheels i think would be the most fun.
