So today I go to drive to the store and on the way there the battery and brake light flicker on. I pull over and notice that the batter had corrosion all over the terminals and figure that might be it.
I go back home clean off the terminal and check the voltage. While the car is off, the battery sits at a comfortable 12.5 volts. While the car is running the battery sits at a comfortable 14.9 volts. So I know the battery is getting charged and the alternator seems to work.
The lights are still on when I turn the car on and now when I put the car in reverse there is a violent shake as it goes into gear. This does not happen with any other gear. Also the “D” and “2” light up on my dashboard as well as the “R” when its in reverse.
Any thoughts.
Its a 2000 mitsubishi mirage.
