May have to take a trip out

Y SO FAR DRIVE

hmmm I may have to do this, any idea how many drivers you expect/seat time?

If you go I’m going and I’m staying wherever you’re staying so there.

At least 20 drivers will be there, split into 2 groups. Our rule book for the day is here: http://www.onyxsyndicate.com/driftingrulebook.pdf

Should be a lot of seat time! Drivers meeting is at 11:45am and everyone is on track at noon. We’re done at 6pm.

We have a guy from DriftOps (Canada) running the drift portion of the day.

I should also note that the drifting and unlimited food / drink deal are pre-pay only. You’ll find payment in the first link I posted.

That’s pretty sweet! Buffalo is quite the hike though.

Yeah, but it’s a straight shot down the I90. And the track is maybe 10min max from the Depew exit.

It takes me 4 to 4.5 hours to get to Albany… boring, straight, flat drive for sure but I’ve been out and back in a day. If you wanted to stay the night there area a lot of hotels near the track.

post this on slideny.com as well to get some more driftbrodudes wannabedrifters

Thanks for the tip! I just signed up and posted here: http://www.slideny.com/index.php?topic=1278.0

Thats laborday weekend isnt it so everyone has a 3 day weekend. Drive one day stay over night drift all day stay over night drive another day

for everyone thinking it’s a far drive, it isn’t at all. i do the drive all the time because my grandma lives about another 10 exits farther out. it is boring though. i’m down sounds like a good way to spend the day before fall semester starts.

I assure you 4.5 hours in a loud gutted car is a LONG drive.

Not that you don’t already know that, just saying.

my judgement on long drives is off. i did this drive multiple times in my mr2, and much farther, guess i’m just use to it, once i pass the 6-8 hour mark then i consider it long. fuck i’m driving close to 30 hours this weekend (thankfully in a bone stock yaris). but this drive will be closer to the 4 hour mark if you don’t hit traffic for some reason. you can get away with doing 80 the whole way out there. buffalo is 4 hours away and from looking at the google maps this place is on the closer side of buffalo (far end of buffalo is 4.5, grandmas house is 5 in case you care lol)

Good chance you will hit some traffic as from exit 39-40 its a nightmare and all dug up for construction and they aren’t even close to repaving yet so I would assume it will still be under construction that weekend. Of course it depends what time you go through that area, I hit some pretty heavy traffic on my way out to Rochester on Friday.

The trick is driving back with a broken car and bald tires

if it’s not right there it will be at some other point, they are always doing construction out that way, at least since i was 18 lol. usually it’s doesn’t get bad but i haven’t been out that way in a while. i guess i’ll not drive out i90 this weekend and either go down 88 or 87 on my way to nashville.

flat tow it behind the yaris :pop

Drifting the charger.

doubt it
