Beater Suggestions

but seriously

im either getting a civic or a jeep cherokee for the winter

great beaters

I think you should buy my Nissan

Or a Loyal

Haha, I don’t have that kinda money, and besides, that car is way too nice to be a winter beater.
Right now I’m still deciding, and a 3rd car was added in the mix. Top contenders are now: Civic hatch, S13 and Acura Legend.

OOOOOOOO night choices

Allright, I expanded the list greatly by sifting through the autotrader, and writing down all cars that I wouldn’t mind driving. As it stands right now:
Acura Integra - Mid 90’s
Acura Legend - Early 90’s
BMW 3 Series - Early 90’s
BMW 5 Series - Early 90’s
Honda Accord - Mid 90’s
Honda Civic - EG or EK hatch
Lexus ES300 - Early 90’s
Lexus LS400 - Early 90’s
Nissan Maxima - Mid 90’s
Nissan Altima - Mid 90’s
S13

Please let me know if there’s anything I should be aware of about any of these cars, good or bad. No fanboy-ism please, as it was an idiot from here that egged me on to buy the Talon, and they didn’t know dick all about it either, it was the blind leading the blind. Facts about any of these cars are greatly appreciated though.

Edit: Also, I plan to sell the G prolly around 2010, and get a “toy” only for weekends, so whatever I buy as a winter car now, would become my daily after that, so take that into consideration, it should be something fairly decent.

S12 or Toyota Tercel.

Also, I drove a 2001 Hyundai Elantra for 4 months without problems. Took whatever I threw at it. I still have it for like 1-2g if you want it. It’s got 170k~.

Mmm… I need to think about it. I’m tempted by it’s cheap-ness, but I really don’t want another car that I’m gonna hate. I want something that I’ll actually enjoy, and maybe even do slight mods to (lower, wheels, etc)

don’t mod it!

if ur going to buy something cheap then there is no point in wasting money on it. Just, drive it into the ground knowing that you have nothing to loose. Driving something into the ground with no regret is the best time u can have.

pm me if youre interested.

Hmmmm… Pretty tempted but I haven’t saved up enough cash yet, still deciding what I want. If for some reason you’d be willing to trade for the Talon and I give you another 500 bucks, then I’m game. Otherwise, have to wait till I get more $ put aside.

i got a 93 accord for winter beater (needs windsheild and a cat.)
and an s13 that needs a hot saftey(rad support needs replacing)

the 93 accord is reaching 500K on it and is faster then a stock s13 and handles great in the snow with snow tires(included) just has a Idle issue, IACV needs a cleaning… so the rpms fall to 900 and jump to 1800 repeaditly on idle… so it has the ricy… mwwwwhhhhaaaaa ummmmmmmmm mwwwwhaaa ummmmm sound to it.lol

BOTH ARE CURRENTLY FOR SALE.
PM FOR PICS

civic

I’m really looking for the kind of car that has absolutely nothing wrong with it. I don’t have the time to be fixing stuff anymore, I’m way too busy with work.
Lately I have been leaning toward an EK hatch though, I saw a really clean one on my way to the gym today. I’m still considering an S13, but I think most other cars are kinda out of the picture, as they’re too expensive to be dealing with. The only problem I have with getting an S13, most are too “project” if you know what I mean. I need a car that runs perfect and needs nothing.

civic

can’t go wrong …

listen just go back a mid 90s sidekick in a manual, ull have the most fun

i have my manual dakota, thing goes over everything and its reliable to shit.

but get a sidekick those things are awsome in the winter, honda motors in jeeps = awsome.

Nissan Altima

Transverse KA. The lost step brother.

Woah, this is still alive?
I bought a Civic couple of weeks ago. It’s blue, has 4 doors and is manual. Doing bodywork on it right now, pics will be up when it’s done.
