winter beater ideas??

I find it so hard choosing what to get as a winter car every year, so I want to see what people think. I’ve been running ideas through my head. SUV’s are always cool but gas prices are high. I was thinking of a civic or integra to beat around, they never break and they are fun to drive. If I could find an older Impreza for cheap enough that would be sweet too… corolla GT-S or S13 would be fun but may prove to be a hassle in the snow. Or I could go VIP and get an early 90’s RWD import sedan (like last year  )
any ideas?? post pics!

walk.

and 929’s are shit.

Fin.

GT

what’s the budget like?

i think a beater should only work for 4-5 months tops…then off to the wreckers for scrap metal.

personally i wouldnt spend more than 500 for a beater. enough to get me through winter without repairs…then trash it.

Heh. I’m thinking about the same thing for next winter since I’m hating being car-less now. I’m torn between spending 2-3 grand and getting something nice I can keep every winter, vs getting something dirt cheap and scrapping it when the winter is done. Then there’s always just fixing my old car, but I don’t even know what’s wrong with it for certain

Just get a nice little 4x4,
Look for a older Toyota Pickup, Old Jeep, Old Subaru

they are all nice to drive and will last oyu a while

I hear Bonnevilles are PIMP.

I think there might be one for sale in the FS section right now.

Someone should buy it!!

i hear you advertise that car too much

i also hear that i want to buy it

i hear i might come look at it soon

If you still want to have fun in the snow I’ve always thought an old 4cyl Mustang would make a good beater… cheap car, cheap parts and RWD!

pick up a 91+ s13 with a crappy frame that runs well.

with a crappy frame you’ll get it for a few hundred.

hot safety it or just drive it anyways…

WOOT WOOT

slide like it’s crack

that is the current plan hehe

im also checking something out tomorrow that would cost a bit more but it could be worth it.

saab 9000 turbo 5spd, its a great beater car i drive one right now no major problems, i would sell it for cheep. something to consider.

this link isnt my car but it looks almost 100% the same.

those are pimp for a beater.

im going tomorrow to check out a 929, but the newer body style.

VIP drift :wiggle:

i had a saab 9000 turbo last year and it was garbage fast but bad shape parts are kinda pricy but if there in ok shap go for it look for rust on the brake booster

this year i have a audi 5000s and its pimp im a ballar in it it was some luxuryy car back in the 80’s worth every $

get a K car and rock it out 80’s style

well fellas I ended up grabbing a 91’ civic hatch, 5spd…

one owner, MINT car, 169,000 KMs…

$350

HAHA patience pays off!! I’ll get a pic up soon.

nice find spilner.
the 88-91 civics are really good cars in the winter time. and especially u picked up a mint 1 owner low km. thats a deal.

Hey Spilner… glad you took that civic! I almost bought that car too… it’s so MINT and clean.

Just remember to replace that axle immediately, and bleed those brakes.

I think the thermostat might need replacement as well.
