Beefy tire suggestions

Need suggestions for good all around summer tires for street, auto-x, strip driving, they gotta have really beefy tread. I have these totally awsome Borbet 15’s that Im going to work with, but I dont even know what model they are and how wide they are :ugh: becasue I havent measure yet, but Im bored and sitting here at working htinking about what tires I can get. Whats on there now is 195/65/15 all seasons and the blow balls.
Tires I’ve liked that I’ve seen are Falken Axeni F615’s when ESE got their stock in, also JeffWells Kuhmo somethings.

Heres a pic, you hardcore VW peeps may recognize them off the top of your head, I think they’re Type T’s maybe :dunno: :

Thanks yins

yoko avs es100s

falkens!

All of the really good autocross style street tires don’t have a tall enough sidewall for your Passat.

If you don’t mind loweing your car a half inch with the tires, and having your speedometer read way high, 225-50-15 Azenis 615s would be a good choice.

the es100s broke my center diff

ahh thats some major grippage. I’ll have to check out the tread

I don’t think the 2x stickier Kumho’s Scott ran ever broke a center diff.

scott doesn’t launch like i do, he launches like a pansey

these are ok…i was running them & so was my wife.
good for the price but there is a lot better stuff if you want to pay the cash

get bf goody G-force kdw2 they have them available in smaller sizes now & they are somewhat reasonable probably about $10 or so more a piece compared to the es100’s

i’m leaning towards getting them…if thay are anything like the original KDW i’ll be happy.

(4) E/T streets for maximum dry traction

maybe in a straight line but i wouldnt wanna corner on a set of those

there aint shit for 15’s cept some nice drag radials for around 160/pop

looks like I’ll have to get some 16’s or 17’s, bummer

Just a thought, but if you really plan to AutoX regularly get another set of wheels and some dedicated AutoX tires for them (Kuhmo Victoracers are a great balance between cost, grip and longevity… the 710s are a big grippier but wear out way quicker and are pricier… some ppl are faster on Hoosiers, some slower, but they wear quicker too). On some 700 Victo’s you should get a whole season out of them and save a lot of abuse on your street tirs.

I’m getting a set of these soon

Dunlop Direzza DZ101…they just came out recently and i’ve heard some pretty good things about them. They’re grippy, cheap, and have decent treadwear (300). i’d say either these, avs es100, or kumho mx.

Worst tires I have ever owned. After owning 2 sets that both had problems with wear I won’t buy another set.
