I could think of a few responses…but I’ll keep it to this one: “after seeing photo’s of the victim, Mrs. Hassan, jury members came to the consensus…WOULD NOT FAB”
LOL FAB
lol Hassan’s own witnesses are testifying that he was abusive and controlling. The prosecution keeps objecting to him arguing with and trying to discredit his own witnesses. The judge stopped the trial and sent the jury out of the room to ask him if he really wants to keep calling witnesses.

And his own witness just testified that he is not a battered spouse, which was his whole defense. Game. Set. Match.
That is what the witness said prior when the prosecution called him. They have yet to resume for the day as the judge and attorneys are trying to figure out what is happening.
I just find it funny that “taking a stab at concrete countetops” is the thread right below this, and it was started by the guy who now owns the building where she lost her head.
EDIT: and thanks to my bump that’s no longer the case.
Buffalo is way too small.
You don’t get points for almost winning at trial. If you’re going to lose, lose badly enough that you raise appeal potential.
Not sure if anyone can confirm as I haven’t been reading the blog this week but I just listened to the live update on buffalonews.com and Sandra Chan mentioned he could be tried for 2nd degree murder and possibly only receive up to 15-25 years to life with possibility of parole.
2nd degree is not premeditated murder…1st degree is…seems to me that him waiting in the shadows with hunting knifes unshearthed in his pockets is pretty premeditated actions. It’s good to know that if you fucking cut someones head off you have a chance at getting 15 years with a chance for parole.
Lol, why did I write FAB?
The jury is making their decisions…
I am so curious what is being talked about behind that door. I wish there was a way to see/hear!
Won’t it be crazy if they say “Not guilty…”?
They are taking longer than I expected. I wonder if there is that one juror that wont budge off not guilty, that would suck for all of the rest that just want to go home and be done with this atrocity.
guilty of 2nd degree murder.
Wow. Fucking wow.
I cannot fathom why he didn’t get first degree…
yea, i’m no doctor, but I agree.
I had to take a few law classes over the years and I would always have to read these cases that were mind blowing to me how the judicial system can fail the people. Until something we didn’t know is brought to light I will certain just chalk this up to another failure of the judicial system.
I personally feel that he deserves 2nd more than 1st. I don’t know what the sentencing difference between the 2 is, but if getting 2nd means life in prison over 1st and the death penalty, let that fucker rot in prison for the rest of his life.
I feel like most criminals would be happy to get the death penalty vs. life in prison.
NYS declared the death penalty unconstitutional in 2004 im pretty certain. I don’t think we had an execution here since the 70s? So no that isn’t what it means.
More like 1st and he deff would have sat in jail for life. 2nd he has a chance for parole at some point probably.
it was beyond pre-meditated if you ask me… bait and kill/behead is about as pre-meditated as it gets. 1st would have been up to life w/o parole, 2nd is going to be 25-life w/possibility of parole (don’t quote me, it’s just what I recall hearing)
I was almost positive that NYS didnt have the death penalty, but ppl at work wanted to argue about it. Anyways, this guy is going to rot in jail for a long time and I doubt he will ever get parole considering the shit he pulled in court, that will weigh heavily on how they look at him in the future.
