This isn’t meant to be a debate. I want to see a generally opinion here…
Yep
You do something severe enough, or so many times you don’t learn…we should cook ya.
I am also a firm believer in the express lane, none of this sit around for 15 years costing hunderds of thousands of dollars while you pitifully try to appeal your case.
Since Bucky was captured I wondered when this thread would start.
YES
Eye for an eye.
:word: Perfectly said.
No. DNA evidence has already exonerated several people that were killed on death row, after they were dead.
“oops, sorry about that, we killed your husband/father/brother even though he was innocent. better luck next time.”
Well we have DNA technology now.
Those were pre DNA cases.
If there is DNA proof that is good enough for me.
I still say yes.
If there was DNA proof and/or other irrefutable evidence then i could support it on a case by case basis, but for a lot of cases there’s still too many questions for me.
oh yeah, like this isn’t going to turn into a ‘debate’ that’ll end up locked in 8pgs
yes…but only if the victim “throws the switch.” there is no satisfaction if a stranger is killing the person who just raped and murdered your daughter. i also think all executions should be televised so people are reminded of what happens when you “cross the line.”
and i understand people are wrongly accused every now and then, but shit canning the death penalty isnt the answer. we should take a deeper look into the short commings of the justice system and fix the problem there.
Yes, some people commit crimes so horrible that they have lost the right to live.
yes
Yes, I support it 100%. I hate how they keep the guys who slaughter innocent people locked up for 50 years, costing millions of tax payer $. Gas ‘em, shoot’ em, inject’ em, fry 'em…whatever the case may be, you do the crime, you do the time. You kill someone in cold blood…well, smell ya later. I also think teachers should be able so slap around kids too. Not taking it overboard of course, but ALOT of kids these days are the way they are because of a lack of discipline.
Absolutly support it, but it needs to be done differntly; tried and found guilty—> 1 appeal as garanteed by the constitution—> win your free, lose go directly to the death chamber from the courtroom. I also believe heaily in coporal punichemtn, but too many pansy ass libers claim it;s cruel and unusual punishment and thus unconstitutional.
I firmly believe that if teachers were aloud to physically discipline their students, a lot of the bs that happens would not happen. There are sooo many kids from broken homes and whatnot that do not receive a stitch of discipline, all they need is someone to take them aside, slap them upside the head and tell them to straighten up.
Oh, and EvilStang, not to be grammar police here, but holy fluckin shnit…spell check ftw.
I think Jesus has a lot to do with the reason we don’t participate in the “eye for an eye” approach to punishment.
The teachers-hitting-children thing…lets not go there.
