If it’s safety wired wrong wouldn’t it be trying to loosen the nut if their is tension on the wire?
Use wet bread and a bolt or something the same size as the input to get that pilot out if you don’t have a tool bro. get the bread real wet, mash it into the pilot until you can’t get any more in. Put the bolt on the hole, and hit it with a hammer. You may have to do this a bunch of times because the bread is going to compress a certain amount. Keep packing it until the pilot bearing is in your hand.
Wayne, the tension that the wire is putting on the nut is not a concern, but the concern is that it’s wired BACKWARDS, lol. I’ve offered my help, I only safety wire for a living:hug

i read all the replies and i know you didnt do it yourself, but damn, thats on an oilpump gear too. unsat. left hand threads, the lockwire should go from that hole to one of the gear hole between 9/10 o’clock

Breaking in clutches is over rated, get a couple hundred miles on it (shifting furiously) and let’er have it.

I’m a firm believer in heat wrap is a waste unless you absolutely need it somewhere. In my experience it just leads to cracks and rust. Coatings are much better IMO.
