Ben's Polished Turd Build

Thanks again guys, your feedback keeps me motivated. I’m 19 right now, 20 in September. Been working on cars and such since early high school with my brother Ted, his first mk2 gti really got me into cars in the first place.

The headrests are from the same car as the door panels, 10th anniversary edition black leathers.

Oh, it kinda looks like the Cadillac Escalade embroidered headrests. I’m sure they’d fit too.

Ya never know haha. I used to have a Cadillac rear view mirror but that got replaced for a compass/temp unit from an ion.

I probably have enough body panels in my basement to assemble an entire SC2 no lie.

Lol do it up

Finally got to drive it a bunch today, and stopped out at a 716racing meet up http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/20/u4y6u9a7.jpg

Awesome build dude, are you going with a 1g or 2g manifold? Just be careful it’s not cracked, they love to crack lol

Drove past yesterday looks even better in person.

Cool build and project but man I gotta say I hate the wheel and stretched tire.

Love the clean engine bay and interior

Did they ever make a subtle front lip for these cars?

Looks sweet !

Thanks, they only ever made ricer bumpers, the lip I have is from a cobalt. Buick LeSabre lips fit pretty good apparently. What manifold are you referring to honda4life?

They used Mustang Mach 1 lips on the coupes if I recall correctly.

Yeah I think Mach 1’s fit best on 2nd gen sedans like mine, too big for my liking.
Got it out and around more this weekend, loving it. Just need an alignment…

And now it’s tucked away for the week

You know what’s blowing my mind?

This car is champagne AKA old guy tan, and it still looks sharp lol.

Lol everyone always says all I need to do now is paint it, and I say no way. The color has grown on me so much. Plus it’s stupidly practical since it never looks dirty, but cleans up awesome.

Went to Great Lakes GTG this past weekend in Erie and had a great time. Got some good shots too

Also dropped it some more and found some car people at this truck infested school.

Pulled the motor this past week to do a noisy timing chain tensioner, so I did the guides sprockets and water pump at the same time. New oil pan as well. Needless to say that was a fun time.

Then went all no hood for a day while I buttoned things up.

Ya, never try doing one of these while it’s still in the car. The timing cover/motor mount is a stupid design IMO.
