im goin to start the build on my engine im a beginner at all this and want to start… small basically… give me acouple pointers on a turbo i can start small with
let me start with a discusion then how about the t3/t4? eh?
i have an ebay turbo, manifold, and wastegate that i could sell you.
little shaft play but it still does the job
I have been trying to sell my turbo setup for a little while now…
I don’t know if your trying to do this on a super low budget, but I can sell you my setup which is really top notch with the best turbo for mid range power on a D-series for less than half that it would cost you for all the stuff new. PM me if your interested.
I ran a T25 on mine, scooted pretty good. T3/T4 will also be good. There are tons of options though.
GT42R Should fit perfect
I have had both a T25 and T3/T4…
T25 spooled so quickly it heated up my engine, coolant, and oil a bit too much. the turbo is only good to almost 250hp with supporting mods.
My T3/T4 57 trim I felt was too laggy although some may disagree. Although that turbo with the supporting mods can push around 350hp
I am selling a GT28RS, really quick spool and can produce nearly 350hp. best of both worlds.
GT28 is great for the application IMO
Most people tend to want to go the cheap route to start off, but if you can swing it, the gt28 is good.
PM ILC, I think he has a turbo from his old d-series for sale
GTFO!
I’ve never turbo’d a honda.
PM me I’ll make you pay dearly for it
agreed. PM me ImsloIkno.
here was my dyno with 57 trim t3/t4 with rods, pistons and bigger injectors:
@ 16 psi
the setup:
120hp @ 4500…
Not bad! What does it redline at?
lol
That was with my old engine setup so it was the stock 7200.
The new engine/head gets up to 8k and made 250hp at 4500… never got a clean run on the dyno above that though due to spark issues. New spark plugs and it was fixed but I haven’t had the time or money to rent dyno time since then.
oh yea we have this
no we don’t.
I just realized that you didnt post your power goals and budget for this, so really we can’t give you any useful advice. If you have a budget of 20k and a goal of 600hp… then I would point you in a completely different direction than the typical 2k budget and 250hp goal.
thanks for the opinions is helping alot. im not lookin to boost the hell out of my car just somethin small that i know wont blow the car or me up. the most im lookin to run is 5 to 8 psi and thats it.
Edelbrock Kit
They say that if you can’t afford to push your car off a cliff then you can’t afford to mod it. Just sayin.
Lets talk more about what your goals are. One of the Honda guys can chime in, but <10 psi seems kind of like a “why bother” goal. How much power do you want to make? Do you even care or are you just looking to get your hands dirty trying something new? What’s your budget?
