This is an example of a great way to get away with a NYS legal ar15 that doesn’t look like a neutered gun. Honestly I am building a similar gun to add to my collection, and this weapon, build with Rock River Arms upper and lower, 2 stage trigger, Magpul PRS stock, stainless barrel, and free float handguards for around 1,000 bucks. Thats no BS. I’ve seen the stuff at BGC, and they are usually overpriced compared to what is normal for a M4 look alike. CMMG, a company that does ar’s will sell you a built from parts ar-15, m4 style that is test fired for $550.
just curious your reasons. i searched google for reviews, and havent found a single bad review.

im in the mood to buy a rifle. i REALLY like the M4’s, and the Beretta CX4 Storms look really nice also but seems to be out of stock everywhere. I’ve also looked into almost every derivative of AR-15 and AK as well. Not sure which way I wanna go. Another concern is gonna be ammo cost, as we all know prices will be going up shortly. I’m looking for something that is fun to fire, able to be fired often, and can still take down a person if it ever needed to.
i thought about something like the Marlin Camp 9 or Ruger PC9 that you can get in either 9mm or 40cal. ALOT cheaper, but IDK about the whole firing handgun rounds out of a rifle.
I know some of you out there have alot of experience with these style rifles, and hoping maybe there’s some options out there I may not be aware of.
I paid for my pistol permit about 4-5 months ago, still havent taken it. I said I wanted something like this or a pump to get me by until I actually take the course and get my permit.
Huh? What did you pay for? The class is only good for like 6 months according to the guy who was taking it for the 2nd time because he waited too long.
$55 for the class/pictures.
$105.25 to file the application with Erie County.
$20 for the finger prints (APD guy was cool, didn’t charge me).
I took the class just before Christmas and finished the process last week when APD took my fingerprints. Now the long wait (8+ months) and I’ll get my APD interview, then a couple months after that my permit.
Where are you taking it? If the BGC the old lady that teaches it is great. My friend asked her why she carried a .45 and her response was, “because they don’t make a .46”. :lol:
