Beware: M&M U-Pull-It Return Policy

I just wanted to post this to let you guys know something my friend encountered recently in the event that any of you find yourselves in a similar situation.

I also wanted to make it known that M&M U Pull-It has a lousy return policy.

Anyway, my buddy bought an instrument cluster there about a month ago. It was $33 and two extra bucks for a “warranty.” It didn’t work so he returned it a few days later. He went back to pick up a rim a few weeks later and when he tried to use the credit from the “warranty,” he was told that it had expired.

Turns out the store credit expired two weeks after he got it! Now he’s out the $33 he paid plus the $2 for the warranty and he’s out the part! When he asked the guy at the register to do him a favor and help him out, the guy apparently acted like a jerk and didn’t wanna hear any of it.

Anyway, just beware that if you ever get anything from M&M and you take it doesn’t work, you only have 14 days to take it back, not even 30.

 to the customer service at M&M U-Pull-It.

W&W you return it.

Lol @ bitching about customer service at a junkyard

That dude is a dick, always has been

LOL, maybe I’m slow after the long weekend, but I don’t get it.

I hear ya man, obviously it’s not Neiman Marcus, but hey he paid an extra $2 for the warranty and the right to return it. 14 days? Come on.

I didn’t even know junk yards offered warranties.

always did good by me

If you actually paid extra for a warranty, it’s pretty shitty that he’d get to keep the part and your money. Can’t say I’m surprised considering everything that’s been going on there lately…

your friend received a credit and didn’t ask how long it was good for?

Pretty common with the larger places anyway. A lot of them go as far as to offer long-term parts and labor warranties on used engines.

what has been going on there lately?

their engines have 30 day warranty still right?

What did they give him to signify “Store Credit” and did it have the date on it?

You can always drive down to Gary’ U-Pull-It in Binghamton if you want a good warranty that they stand behind. 30 day return policy with receipt, no questions asked.

Pick-n-Pull in Auburn, NY is the same way. 30 day return policy as long as you have the receipt and it still has their mark on it.

I’m all for supporting local businesses, but, the yards around here suck. Car-part.com is your friend. I love that site. Need a mirror in a specific color-no problem. Need something like an air bag module for $25 that is tested and good-no problem. Shipping-I’ve ordered parts on a Monday and received them on Wednesday and the place wasn’t close to WNY. I’ve never once gotten a bad part, if they say it is grade A, it is. I don’t know if it is because I’m always looking for VAG parts and they don’t get a lot of them in or what. J&J the so called foreign car yard blows, Garlocks can eat my dick after telling me a part was off and waiting for me, drive up there, and wait in that room for an hour while they keep saying “you’re next man.” Seriously, Car-part.com

^ good to know.

I’m liking M&M less and less these days.

standard auto wrecker in the falls is on Car-part.com I use them all the time for VW specific stuff bought 2 tdi motors from them. I would recommend them there not the cheapest but it doesnt matter if you get junk.

Thanks:tup: I’ll keep them in mind next time I need something

+1 I use car-part all the time. It’s where my ls3 just came from.

x2, I’m curious myself.

I’m not sure I’ll get back to you on that. I imagine some kind of receipt.

What else have you experienced with them lately? I’ve gone there maybe a half-dozen times over the past couple years and I’ve always been disappointed. I never find what I need and it seems like the lot is ALWAYS picked over. It’s not like I was looking for parts for a Ferrari either, I’m talking BS stuff like a headlight assembly for a '97 Buick.

Thanks for the info I’ll keep it in mind.

Really!? Im going to have to be the one that has to say this? You are crying about the cuatomer service at a junk yard! If it was in a hoity toity area ok, i would be able to understand your dissapointement. But lets face it. Youre going ro tje “walmart” of junkyards. If your friend paid 100 bucks for a gauge cluster and it didnt work then ok. But 30 bucks and it doesnt work? Come one now. I get that we all want good customer service and that some people now a days still wear their spiderman undies when it comes to life but really!?!? He was lucky to get anything as far as a warranty is concerned feom a junk yard. There was a time when j yards didnt even do that! Hell zome of them still sont! Id tell your buddy to put his big girl panties on and stop crying. Thats just me though.
