Beware: M&M U-Pull-It Return Policy

I used to go every weekend up there for parts, they were good for domestic selection if nothing else. car-part.com has been working wonders for me lately, however.

ive been to m&m a few times with my buddy for his car. everytime i looked and noticed they didnt have a damn thing for any of my cars. apparently i drive cars that dont end up in junkyards very often?

Having to pay for broken shit is not ok I don’t care if it’s a junkyard. Then paying extra and getting a shitty 14 day return period, not cool.

Why would you wanna pay $35 for something that’s broken from anywhere?

If $35 is no big deal to you then why don’t you cut my buddy a check?

On another note, I think I might stop responding to people who write barely coherent posts with horrible grammar. I don’t even know why I glorify you idiots with a response.

I am willing to bet almost every place you go to won’t budge on their policies, even if you ask them to help you out. Try that at Walmart, Best Buy, Tops, any store in the mall, almost any store in the US, etc… He should have read the rules, or asked how long it lasts for!

I’ve noticed over the years that their selection has gone down hill and their prices have gone up. You used to be able (I’d say 5 years ago…) to buy a drivers side front strut assembly (Hub, rotor, caliper, caliper bracket, knuckle, strut, spring, bearing plate, etc…) for $25. Now, you have to pay for EACH part on that assembly seperately if it is still attached. So, say you want the knuckle. Well, you better bring tools, oh and no heat, to break it all apart for that $30 knuckle…or be prepared to spend about $60 on parts you will just throw in the garbage.

I like the $99.99 motor option. But I think that is JUST the long block. If you want PS, Alt, AC…fuck even the wiring and belts it’s probably extra. The trans and axles are definitely extra. Before you could take the WHOLE cradle for $199 and they would load it for you.

Don’t get me started on a door…Fuck.

I think it is just becoming more of a shit show. I notice more and more shitty newer (00+) cars that where just giant pieces of shit to begin with like N-Bodys and SOHC Saturns along with Burnt piles of crap that have no value what so ever.

I went there the last few times to get a Passenger Side Sun Visor for my 04 Ranger…it was used for like 5 years in the Explorer, Ranger, Escape, and Sport Trac. I went more than once because you usually could get a new rotation of cars/trucks about twice a month. But, not ONE remotely close to that body style even after Mark Junior Jerk-off said “Oh yeah, we have quite a few…” when I called ahead.

…and yes; +1 to the “he’s a dick” vote. The older lady that works there is really nice. But I only saw her on Fridays. I think Mark is there every weekend.

Point is, I have gone there many times over the past 10 years and it WAS a very good place for parts. I use Rockauto and Ebay now, and have for about the past 2 years because I typically can get it quicker ordering online during the week rather than waiting to take time off during the day or weekend and make my way out there in hopes that they have my part.

I’m curious to try Car-parts.com now…

From the sounds of the opening post… He was making us aware of the policy there. More like information for everyone on the forum.

If this were to happen to you I’m sure you wouldn’t just bend over and take the $35 fist in the ass.

Yeah…don’t bother if you can avoid it. You were venting a lil and informing the forum of a BS incident. Even if you weren’t venting it would turn into a shit storm I bet.
14 days is fair enough without a warranty I think. The warranty should certainly extend to as least 30 days though…cmon. Do they have their policy posted anywhere or on the receipt at all?

+1 more for car-part.com
I use that site whenever I need anything used. Even if it is just for budgetary prices.

That site found me my replacement engine back in 02/03 for my then new cavalier.
$550 for a 2.4 DOHC with 3k miles on it from a place outside Rochester.

I can understand if he didnt use up the credit after 30 days, if they have a 14 day policy… They should make sure to state it to you when they give you the credit back.

I mean I wasn’t there of course. If someone pitches me a warranty I decline personally, but if I was interested I’d ask for the terms. If the 14 day term was an unknown perhaps the question was never asked?

in repsonse to Luke L’s post…there is a reason things have changed…I don’t know how many of you guys know this, but the old man that always had the sweet mustache smoking cigars OWNED the place, the fuckbag young dude in the office is his son, the chic that signs you in and takes your $2 to get in is his duaghter. The old man died about 2 yrs ago now and left the business to his kids, and they are running it into the ground with their new policies and BS. The old dude understood he was running a low budget junkyard and would sell you a complete door as a door, not nitpick the parts that were still attached while his son is after every dime he can grab from you. The duaghter is more like him… I buy a very specific part in bulk everytime I go there… the daughter used to hook me up on a bulk rate, say $25 if I had five of them. The son charged me $80 for the same 4 or 5 of that part literally a week later.

I agree m and m does suck money balls lately. I remember going their to find window trim for checkos eg sedan and I spotted a ( I can’t remember the car) but it was turbod and we decided to pull the turbo from it. An hour later we had everything out but the one bolt from the exhaust manifold to the turbo wouldnt come out. It was stuck pretty good and wouldn’t budge we said fuck it and wanted to know how much they wanted for the turbo and exhaust manifold. They said $60 for turbo and exhaust manifold, and $30 for just the turbo if we could get it off. we couldn’t so threw the turbo still attached to the exhaust manifold threw a car windshield. The only deal I like is the complete engine deal for $99.99 and at least they stand up to their policy’s on that. On a side note I use car-part.com to gauge prices of things I’m looking for. I’m shocked alot of people on here haven’t used or known about that website…

Sounds like your buddy is an idiot for not looking at the expiration date on the “store credit receipt.” That being said, i wondered what happened to the nice old bloke with the awesome mustache, and why their policies changed recently. Its just another example of kids ruining their parents business because they think they aren’t making enough money. With cars having as many electronics as they do now, they kinda hafta offer some kind of a warranty, especially with the prices they are charging.

Go to wal-mart and buy somthing for $35 bucks, is it broken out of the box? Would you take it back or just say, screw it?

I guess it all depends on who you get when you cash out. My one friend 2 winters pulled a hatch with glass and hatch struts on it and was charged like $75. I was there a month ago and got the same exact thing for $35 but I clearly asked before I took it off. I like their new prices on trim which they charge by the foot or inch or whatever. I ended up paying $15 for $500 worth of trim. Even with a warranty I go in there buying at my own risk if its something mechanical. If you think m&m has bad customer service try j&j’s or vinny’s and I’m sure theres quite a few others.

This is a whole shit ton of misinformation, lol.

really? that’s what the dudes over at marks autoparts told me and my dad…

I think your person fadetoblack is talking about, do I win the prize for guessing it right?

i loved going to this place and throwing rotors like frisbees

Are You gonna tell us whats wrong or…?

Negative. He has more than one friend.
