But of course
Good luck on Brown Hill. Got your work cut out for ya there.
Got out again today with him. I needed it with the shit storm I’m in right now.
Re-did it with duct tape but it still blew off. Got some strange looks from passing cars.
How old do kids have to be to go in these?
It all depends on what kind of trailer you buy. The better ones, like Burley and Chariots have whats called an infant sling. It looks like a hammock crossed with a sport seat and it supports and cradles the little ones that are really young. The Burleys and Chariots are also a better design as the trailer itself is more supportive for when they get older, they look like an actual seat inside. Mine is a shit bag one that basically just has canvas as the back and bottom for the rider with seat belts to hold them in place. I bought this to test out if he would like it before spending up for a better one.
Can’t wait to try out my new road bike now that the weather’s finally turning around. I’m thinking of using it to commute to work a few times a week as well (all downtown).
man, I took a nasty spill on the trails sunday. whacked my nuts on the stem and have a black and blue on my pelvis. Also have an almost-taco’d rim
Any Strava users on here? Might be fun to compare strava rides
also, I am in the market for a new wheelset OR maybe just a cheap front wheel (9mm QR disc hub). If anyone has anything, let me know.
Do you randomly scream out STRAVA when riding and also when you see another person?
negative ghostrider
I am nowhere near fast enough for a KOM time… which is why they are yelling at you (not that it makes it acceptable, it’s never acceptable).
The reason why I like Strava is because I can explore new trails and keep track of my progress really easily.
bump.
went for a ride with some friends yesterday.
the bikes:
52 schwinn phantom, 54 schwinn hornet, 56 schwinn corvette, schwinn chopper, schwinn cruiser, and a rat fink chopper.
Impressive collection of bikes!
I use strave. I think i’m in 95/117 on the delaware park hill climb… lol
Just as bad on the GI bridges
Does anyone know where to buy this stupid part?
I lost it last year and am tired of the brake tube hitting the tire.
will a generic wire clip fit? The forks are Suntour XCR’s.
Just use a small p clamp or something. Hell, a zip tie even.
I use zip ties to hold my brake cables. Many forks don’t even come with a clip to hold it.
thanks, the phantom and hornet are original bikes just tuned up…worth quite a bit of coin. the one schwinn chopper my buddy switch the bars to apes, and make a custom linked seat post with a spring…the schwinn cruiser is just flat blacked with some apes and the rat fink one is original. yesterday was the first real ride after putting the 24" tall apes on my schwinn corvette, really wasnt bad at all to ride, suprisingly comfortable. awkward on hills though haha.
So I’m looking into grabbing something off of Bikesdirect.com and these came up recently:
Motobecane Mirage Pro - $500
Motobecane Mirage S - $400
My question to the gurus is whether or not there is a substantial difference between the two. The mirage S is only a 14 speed versus the 24 sp on the pro, but most of my riding would be around the city. Is there that much of a difference? Looking at the other components, is the extra $100 worth it? I’m leaning towards the pro, but wanted to get some other opinions.
And if anyone knows of other deals in this price range, I’m definitely open to suggestions.
That’s so awesome, I love the design of the 50’s era Schwinn’s. And here I was thinking I was all snazzy riding my '89 schwinn prelude.
It is currently zip tied, but I dont want premature wear to break the line.
Keep an eye on it but if your REALLY that worried just get a rubber p-clamp or take a piece of rubber fuel line and wrap it around the brake line before zip tying it.
