Bicycle crew: Post your ride

Are there any good spots to ride in the falls?
A canadian friend wants to come down and ride in the area this summer.

I remember seeing videos of a trail, but do nto remember where it is.

I have been counting down the days until I could get back out on my bikes again. Now I will have to wait a little longer. Tore a ligament in my ankle on Monday and it will take a while to heal. At least I can use the commuter bike for my conditioning once it gets better?

I think your thinking of the trail that rides the edge of the bob Moses , there’s a pavement road for road bikes and there’s a dirt part for mtb , its not really crazy or anything. More like for a bmx bike then a mtb

I never stopped riding :stuck_out_tongue:

I was thinking more about the gorge area.
I guess I could have searched before posting :frowning:

Holiday has some great riding, 2 mile down hill single track to finish the day off is always a blast. Definitely gets sketchy in some spots when cruising down it, but man is it a blast to do. also bunch of other areas really good. A fun technical trail is the Great Lakes trail. Very technical with rocks, bolders and then a fun down hill with rocks and bolders. One of my favorites there. Also the trails leading in and out of Little rock city take a lot of skill and knowledge of riding. We dont do a hell of a lot there but I’d love to build up and do more of it.

That was me and Skurge, nothing worth dealing with down there to be honest unless you are very hardcore and crazy. We hooped off the bikes a bunch of times because of sketchy sketchy spots for riding.

there is just about everything at holiday

who says you cant carry your mtn bike INSIDE your S2K?

cant wait to get my bike back out, should be very soon, i haven’t ridden since i crashed and ended up with two fractures in my elbow last september, dont worry, the bike was fine

yeah, if your elbow is ok to ride is what youve been saying. You need to get a new shock now before you ride at all. Your fork shocks are shot. They have no travel and are very stiff. If you worry about your arm, you should do it right the first time and not chance reinjuring yourself.

thankfully i was riding my backup mtn bike, which was probably most of the reason i crashed, stupid clamp brakes threw me right over the bars

That goes against my undestanding of disc vs clamp brakes… my though process is that a nice disc would be more inclined to toss you over the bars if you brake too hard… must have been some nice clamp brakes!

now that it took me 5 tries to get to this page, i’ll see if it will let me post

i have mechanical discs, and have them setup so they wont throw me over the bars unless i really really try to, the set of clamps on my backup bike are pretty much brand new(maybe 30 miles on them) and are very sticky, they lock up very easily. so i’m used to how my discs are setup, hence tossing me over the bars

Nope, the best thing about disc brakes is the ability to modulate your braking power. With wheel/v/clamp brakes, you don’t get the granularity. It’s either nothing or your wheel is locked up. Though, my front one never stopped well enough to toss me over the bars, I was constantly dragging my rear wheel anytime I would hit the brake. The second best thing is that when clamp brakes get wet/dirty/muddy they become almost useless. Disc brakes stand up to the harsh conditions quite a bit better.

yeah, lol, every time I had clamp brakes i’d always be adusting them and they never did much for me. The switch to hydro disc was awesome!

we have videos of holiday for anyone that hasn’t seen it and would like to check it out, little bit of everything there

LOL I was there first hand for that flip over the bars. I asked if he was ok, then bursted out laughing because of how it was on pavement and how he hasnt really crashed but one major one off road. We were cruising and going down a banked hill on a path when a dumb ass came up on our right side (our side of the path) instead of keeping to his right. He locked up and went right over with me directly next to him. It was as if the bike threw him at the ground. It wasnt a gradual over the handlebars. Sorry but I still laugh to this day about the situations of the crash and how it happened and where.

Fook me my 8in hydraulic disks scare me lol I one finger my front brakes anything more is ass or teakettle.

Happy Easter! Pulled Jr. for 20 miles today. East Eden road and Jennings are a bit of a struggle towing this bugger. Nothing like towing 35lbs into a head wind, up hill, and it being about as aerodynamic as a box to really get the legs working.

^that is awesome

edit: been riding on nice days lately, lil tuesday lunch

Pulled the little monster for just under 70 miles over 3 days. Shirley Rd, you are officially my bitch! A 3 mile climb at 3% grade while towing Junior will only make me stronger. Brown Hill-you’re next you cunt.

You are nuts man. So what’s the highest MPH the little guy has seen so far?

37mph and he LOVED it!

Do you have a helmet for him yet?
