Yeah that Raleigh is pretty neat.
I put my bike into the back seat of my M3…
I just put a blanket from my front seats to the headrests of the rear seats, and put my bike in the middle like a taco… works fine… dont even need to take the rear wheel off (front wheel has to come off though)
We did the same thing in a G35. With mountain bikes, things get messy REAL quick though. Even with blankets.
I love my bike rack though, it’s so easy to load/unload and the car stays squeaky clean.
Yeah eff putting a bike especially a dirty mountain bike inside of a car. I actually like keeping the inside of my cars clean…
Hitch rack FTW.
I like to be able to open my hatch. I travel out to Charlotte to hang with fiances family a lot and I always bring my bike. If I had to take down the bike every time I needed to open the hatch I would club a baby seal…and that would be a lot of dead baby seals, not to mention the time spent traveling to find baby seals from the middle of NC. Talk about an inconvenience.
Cyclo cross bikes-kick ass on so many levels
I need to pay Campus Wheel Works a visit, and get myself a qqwwhip.
So, thats what it’s called then?
Want.
Mine is on a hinge so I can let it down some and still be able to open the hatch without removing the bike.
i have a haro revo frame, took out the gyro for just a brake line, alex triple wall rims, redneck stem, mirra bars cut, lighter seat post, poverty seat, poverty 3pc, stock fork. i dont remember what tires im running, my bike has been at my friends house for the past 2 years lol. i used to ride trails, nothing big, mainly just trying to get big air. we had a pretty decent trail setup behind burchfield gardens on union/clinton. maybe ill get back into riding but prob not.
a bunch of my friends go urban riding DT, so hopefully i can get my bike back lol
nice! It’s dumb loud without the fairing though. Gotta get one.
With the windows shut, I can barely hear it. Vent the sunroof and its so loud. I bought the sport rack sooo I gotta see if they make the deflector for it.
Ahhh, got ya
My rack is a Yakima, and the bars are round. So they howl similar to if you blow into the top of a beer bottle. It was REALLY annoying.
Couldn’t you just pull the pin from the hitch and yank the whole thing off in 30 seconds?
I got the bars and bike attachment for $230 shipped to my door. I couldn’t go wrong with it at that price considering I couldn’t even pick up Thule or Yakima bars for less than that.
still riding the soma this year, great light bike
cant wait for the trails to dry up some so i can get out in some mud
What if I’m on a roadtrip and the wifey needs a drink from the cooler in the trunk or something? It’s just pure convenience. Having the bike on the roof, plus the ability to strap other items to the roof in the future was a huge benefit. We went to charlotte last weekend. Brought my bike and was also able to strap a fold up dog crate to the other side of the rack, since it wouldn’t fit in the car with 2 dogs and luggage. If I needed extra roadtrip storage space, I could get one of those roof rack containers and put shit in that. The list of possibilities goes on and on.
Not to mention, it would cost another couple hundred to put a hitch on the car.
is it a PITA to put the bikes on and take them off the roof rack
i have a trunk mount and IMO it sux
