finished up the passenger side today,
post before.
and after some metalworking, I still have to do some work on the upper bodyline to where I am happy with it.
got the inside plated up and welded.
and wire wheeled the rear glass channel.

So sick dude.
dave that looks awesome
started on the drivers side today, but before I could do the top of the door/b pillar I had to address door sagging when opening/ closing due to the beat door hinges, to be expected on a 60 year old car. Luckily the ones on the parts car were perfect.
yanked out these and threw them in the scrap pile.
with some help from this and a BFH.
while the hinges were off I cleaned up the door jamb.
mint
with the door shutting like new again I got started on the pillar/door. Ill finish them up tomorrow.
now that the door closes nice, I decided I wasn’t happy with the gap so I tightened it up.
after spending a few hours on that I finished up the pillar/ top of the door.
once again after a couple more hours it was time to do the C pillar.
stock
and after
also got about 75% of the catwalk done, this took forever but allowed me to practice my hammerwelding.
Im very happy with the lines of the car now that both sides are done.
Visibility seems decent too.
Amazing work!
This car looks so sick. I can’t wait to see it done.
Awesome Dave! Keep up the good work!
great work as usual. just curious what mustang ii kit are you going with?
I already have a complete front end from JW rod garage waiting to be installed. I just need to buy the stuff for the rear susp before I start the chassis,
First a throw back to 2 years ago this weekend when I dragged this monster home.
and I was able to get a couple hours in tonight and finish up the chop. I have to say Im extremely happy with the final result.
Ill be peicing together the next body mod this week so stay tuned for that.
awsome work i know who im sending my dad to when he starts his 58 ranchero in a few months
decided to tackle another body mod tonight, wasnt exactly too sure on how or what I needed but after looking around the scrap pile at the shop I found exactly what I needed.
started with a couple expansion plugs, drilled a hole for the antenna, and a second hole for a drain which I stepped for a snug fit
got some exhaust pipe that matched, welded the bottoms on and JB welded some drains on which will eventually be hooked up to hoses to prevent the antenna holes from filling with water.
fast forward a couple hours later, after drilling two rather large holes in the top of the quarter panel and after some ( a ton) metalworking
with the antennas
Love this build thread!
this is pretty awesome youve got a great eye for these kinda things! i wish i was patient enough for body work
ill do a more in depth update next week but ill leave this here.
Fuck me…this car is going to be like a wet dream
computer is still broken but some updates,
old front end out and the new one tacked in place.
motor and trans mocked up,
underside shot of the kooks longtubes.
whats the plan with the header collector being right smack into the X brace? If you need any tig work you know how to get a hold of me. You might be able to cut that collector back 2 inches or so and weld on a tight z bend to jussst clear the x member to hit that exhaust pass through hole there. Or honestly, if you have alot of room ahead of the motor like I think you should with that giant hood/nose move the motor forward to give you more header room down there maybe.
looks dope as fuck at this point, mad props Dave!
its just the picture. there is enough room to do an S bend. So its just gonna take come creativity with making an exhaust which is fine.
werd… it looks tighter than your date on prom night. pie cutssssss to the rescue!
