you dont trust your girlfriend driving one of them?
the 54 maybe. the mustang not a chance.
OT: picked this up, its a 04 5.3 with exactly 60,000 miles on it. I will clean it up and most likely do a small cam, not so much for sound but more for the power increase.
been pretty busy this week.
picked up a camaro 10 bolt with a 3:73 posi.
stripped the leaf spring brackets off it.
also stripped the chassis to get ready for sandblasting.
then came the fun part, sandblasting on a summer day.
and sealed everything with some epoxy primer.
I ordered the frame notch, bag brackets, and 4 link kit. So once those come in Ill be starting to do the chassis work and start fitting the new susp, as well as the body.
Your boss ever going to do something with that old hauler he has out back? That thing would be badass all fixed up and functional. Also i have an ls1 intake to sell if your interested as part of your swap.
the hauler will prob never be for sale. It belongs to my bosses old business partner. It will sit and rot most likely. He has a spare cab and front end, it even ran. But he has a ton of projects he started that will never be done.
Did some cleaning on the last inner fender, cleaned up pretty nice once I got the undercoating off, no rot. Ill clean up the surface rust, Ill shoot it with some epoxy the next time im up at the shop.
some befores(old)
cleaned up.
rolled the car outside to rearrange the back room and blow the car off. Gonna do a couple last minute things to the car on saturday, and get started on the chassis hopefully next week.
a little more solid then my start in 2011
Looks awesome buddy!!!
Did some work on the door/quarter fitment, as well as put the pass side rocker on. Its a big milestone because now the body of the car is rust free and the rust repair is complete.
and sealed the other rocker with epoxy as well.
put the body together one last time to fit the gaps, took some convincing with a 5lb sledge a block of wood and a slide hammer but I’m happy with the result. The drivers side hinges need to be replaced, so ill grab the ones off the parts car which are perfect.
getting chopped this weekend
Well I had originally planned on finishing the chassis before I chopped the car, but I have no cash right now. So I figured I might as well chop the car because it will allow me to continue making progress without having to spend money.
so I took the glass out and braced up the body to keep it from warping.
and hacked the roof off
Removed the appropriate amount and threw the roof back on.
had to cut out the package tray/catwalk and move it forward about 6 inches to line back up with the rear window.
decided that was enough for one day, turned everything off and went home, came back up this morning and started fresh.
cut and sectioned the top of the door and b pillar, decided that leaned pillars would make the car look better than straight up and down like stock. I still have a ton of work to do but it came out real decent for my first chop and no guidance from anyone.
Damn, that looks really good. Are you going with single windows or are you putting the cigarette windows back in?
it depends on how much of a pain in the ass a one piece window would be, Id have to move the tracks and who knows what with the regulator. If I don’t go one piece I am just gonna put a stationary piece of glass like so
How much did you chop it?
Edit couldn’t you have leaned the a pillars back instead of cutting the packing shelf just curious
looks damn good
Love it.
amazing work. were do u work do you do side work?
