Big turbo
todays update:
after a few months of prep I finally painted my big port intake today. Just some backround on this. The car has a big port head off an a4/passat, the motor was mounted front to back rather than sideways in the engine bay therefore it has a different intake manifold, the throttle body come out in the center rather than on the side like in the jetta/gti. The jetta/ gti manifold is for a small port head, creating a bottleneck, however the big port manifold with the side throttle body isnt avalible in the us so it had to be ordered from europe. When I got it, it was very crude, there was alot of texture to it and the mold lines were HUGE. Most people would have said, cool and put it on. But that wasnt good enough, being that it is winter and I have alot of free time I decided to take it a step further.There was also some unused brackets on one of the runners and the front of the intake that I ground off. So I sanded all of them off to give a smooth finnish that could be painted and come out very smooth and shiney. I used dulicolor wheel paint( same paint I used on my cobra R intake on my old red cobra) I like it because it gives a nice silver/gloss and is VERY durable.
