I wonder why he primed the underbody but didnt paint it before putting it back together.
Its red oxide primer, thats exactly what the cars looked like when they were new.
a fully “concourse” restored 67 shelby
Did a little more after work tonight.
wire wheeled/sanded all of the surface rust off the rocker/door jamb. I used a little icing on the spot welds where the quarter was welded to hide any imperfections. ignore the paper covering the wiring, I couldn’t get the masking tape in there.
my grandmother just bought a Dark blue 66 Notch back 289 yesterday. 69,000 origional miles…not rust even on the exhaust manifolds…previous owner had it for 14 years and it was only a show car. When it gets delivered I will snap pics for you.
and yes, I said my grandmother bought it lol
lol Drew thats awesome, I’m gonna have to bang your grandma now :rofl :rofl
OMG +rep :rofl :rofl

took advantage of the nice weather today and got the rear quarter all blocked and ready for primer.
also got some goodies in the mail today.
shelby taillights
taillight bezels
gaskets
electric trunk popper/latch
PIAA headlights, same exact model used on the movie car.
Nice score on the lights
the headlights are hard to find. I got a killer deal on them too.
Go finish the body work prep and get this gem sprayed
i’m hoping to have both quarters, doors, trunk, end caps, and taillight panel all done and in primer in a week or so
