I’d say so considering one point he’s made about doing this is that its going to be as close to the movie car as he can possibly get it.
NICE DUDE!!! hit up the metal super market and get some SS square rod, lets get that grill done ASAP.
It was a joke man, but I’m surprised they let you work on the car in their shop!
just jumping into this thread, looks awesome! but 1 question…why werent the hood/doors/trunklid removed and painted separately? or were the jambs done earlier?
He did the jambs first them shot the car. If I were shooting a metalic like that, I wouldnt be shooting it as a whole, as to get even coverage and not end up with mismatched panels. Its just to easy to lay a shit ton more paint on a bumper or small panel on a stand than if it were a walk around and shoot deal. just my 2 cents.
yea not right away but eventually the car will have a shot on it.
yea ill get you some dimensions tomorrow
i told mike right off the get go he was a hand,s on type and he wanted in on the build . he had no choice or he would have to deal wit a meatpaw to the head lol
id say considering most of that stuff is hard to find i didnt know if he was bothering to try and find a sticker to surround a 1/4’’ button so excuuuuuuse me
YOU ARE FOREVER EXCUSED
car looks good
ok i gotcha, i just laid down a metallic silver and some spots came out uneven as i took most of the panels off. Good thing its a dorifto finish, lol.
the jambs were painted first them all of the doors/fenders were put on, then the jambs were taped off then the whole car was painted so teh metalic would be even. The end result is awesome so who cares.
hell yeah, cant wait to see it in person. What kind/brand of paint did he use?
i like fresh paint. its nice lookin on this car, as well!
dupont
centari?
chromapremier
looks good fool.
looks really good dave, nice work. cant wait to see it in person
now that the paint has cured a bit I did the initial wet sanding with 1200 and cutting creme with a wool pad to get rid of the orange peel. I still have to hit it with a fine cut compound/foam pad to really make it shine.
some close up befores
some sanding
and after the wool pad/ cutting compound.
